Brake pedal locking in cold weather 2007 mdx

Anyone else have this problem? In cold weather, after driving a couple of blocks, the brake pedal in my '07 mdx will lock and won't depress. It only happens 1 time and after applying the brakes a few times before it locks. Kind of clueless, could it be something in the brake line?

Not sure, but take it somewhere and get that checked out. Brakes are not something to mess around with or cut corners, better that you spend the money and avoid a potential accident.

Definitely taking it in, just wondering if anyone else experienced this. It's the first time this has ever happened, and I'm not the most mechanically savvy person.

it could be a variety of issues! When's the last time you changed the brake fluid?

If you don't know, open the engine hood and on the drivers side, near the windshield will be the brake fluid container with the master cylinder attached to it!

Twist and open the cap to see the fluid. If it's brown/dark then it's way older than 1-2 years. It should be a clearish yellow fluid if it's good/new. Brake fluid needs to be replaced every 2-3 years because it absorbs water and can rust out the brake system from the inside out!

Your best bet is to look at the fluid first and make sure it's not low. If it is fill it up with some DOT3 fluid and get a brake service done.

My 08 RDX used to do weird stuff with the brakes. anytime it was 10 deg. F or below it wouldn't brake. When you first brake you'd have to smash it to brake it loose to stop. fluid frozen in lines from sitting overnight maybe. Never did it after the first attempt to stop.

Yeah, that's the same thing I'm going through! Took it in and they replaced the brake booster hose. We will see if it helps...
