Thumbs up On board with new 2010 MDX

Hello everyone

Got a new 2010 Palladium MDX based model.
It's a great SUV for what it is. I said this because I traded a Miata for the MDX due to priorities.

I checked out few SUVs before settling on the MDX. Specifically compared the CX-9 which I thought it was great with tons of features and lots more room but the quality wasn't quite there as the MDX; as well checked out the Venza and Highlander and Pilot. In the end I liked the MDX as best overall.

I have already installed the sports running board myself. They both functional and look great.

And I am deciding if i need the body side moldings and roof rails.
I may not need roof rails this year, but would probably like to get them installed while the car is new as the roof molding is clean still.

I look forward to contributing and learning from the forum.

Welcome to Acurazine

Great move on the 2010 MDX - for the most part, we're all very happy MDX owners in here and like to share our opinions on the best luxury SUV out there (dollar-for-dollar).

Oh and we're pic junkies, so you'll probably be asked to post pics of your new ride.

Thanks for the welcomes! Although it looks like any other MDX, pictures will be coming tomorrow.

One question, does 09's have LED reading lights for all rows?

Finally.. sorry for late pics

I know this is very late, but here it is

I had roof rails and sports running board installed.
So far I love the car for what it is. It got more than adequate power as I was able to accelerate nicely with a fully loaded car and a full trunk. I can't wait to take it to boarding this winter.
I have switch most of the lights to LED. The factory roof lights are LED now, but they don't appear as bright as the aftermarket ones.
My wife likes it too. It will eventually be her soon.

and... my old car

Are those square things by the headlights the washers on the Canadian model MDXs?

I installed the body side mouldings and the wheel arch covers - In answer to your original query, I think that they enhance the side view significantly.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Yes, those square things by the headlight are the headlight washers.

I think I am going have to consider the side mouldings. I know dings are inevitable but some kind of protection would be nice.

Another thing to consider is to upgrade the tires to something better. I haven't heard any good reports about the Bridgestone 400.

I do not understand why Acura think that you need headlight washers in Vancouver but not in Seattle?
I am not convinced that the body side mouldings will help much with dings. My RL parks next to my MDX and the doors on the RL do not hit the side moulding, they hit the paintwork so they improve the looks but do not do much for your stated intention.
I do not know if the Canadian models get different tires or if you only get Michelins with the 19's but mine did not come with Bridgestone.

True, Vancouver and Seattle are sister cities but unfortunately are separated by the border, hence the difference. I am sure it was for Acura to save a few dollars by not including the headlight washer. However, I have yet to use the headlight washer yet. It maybe useful in the winter.

I got the base model so it came with 18' wheels and they came with Bridgestone Dueler H400 tires

Wow, from a Miata to an MDX...definitely a different direction. What prompted the change?

The arrival of our baby.

Also in preparation for baby number 2 coming soon.

I was already lucky that my wife let me keep the Miata until now since she was on maternity leave. But I had to get a family car when she went back to work this Sept.

I told her that I will be buying a another Miata in 3 years. Just giving her a heads-up when I do I loved the Miata. It didn't matter where I went as long as I drove the Miata. It's such a fun car to drive.
