Blind Spot Indicator update

Blind Spot Indicator update
I finally installed the Goshers Premium unit which looked very good on paper and on their on line video. Unfortunately I am quite disappointed with its finish and performance.
Never drove a car that has factory installed BSI system, so I dont know how they work, but this one is overly sensitive (even at its LOW setting) and the LED indicators are almost constantly on in the highway when I am on the left lane due to the rail guard. To its credit, when a car is on my blind spot, it works. When I am on city driving, they are also giving me warnings for all the parked cars...
So I am down $500 and have 2 orange disco lights in my MDX...
Next time I will splurge $5K and get them factory installed with a few more goodies.

^^ You have learned a lesson I learned when I bought my TSX....I will never cheap out on the tech package again, not because its a must but they are nice to have. In addition, you don't have to deal with aftermarket gizmos.....

I have the tech package buy I thought that an extra $5K for the advance tech package was simply too much.

^^ I guess what I was trying to say (and used the example of the TSX which at the time, the highest trim was the Tech pack - 2009) is that from now on, I will always spend the extra cash and get the top trim feature so there is no "wish I wold have gotten that" feeling.

Burning Brakes
I'm the say way now. No need to wish I had more power (v6 vs I4) or a better sound system.

The Goshers system works by emitting ultrasonic waves, while the OEM one works by emitting radar (microwave) waves.
The OEM system has been accurately calibrated by the factory, but the Goshers system is a universal fit.
Thus the Goshers system tends to be more false-warning prone.
Can you adjust the sensor's sensitivity ?

When people get into my car and see the orange disco lights and ask me what they are, I simply answer "a mistake".

One AZ member has installed a Goshers system in his 4G TL, and has managed to make it working somewhat.

Don't worry too much. Even the OEM stuff sometimes goes off when there's nothing on either side of the vehicle. The manual even states that this is normal under certain conditions. Heck even the CMBS sensor will go off sometimes when passing an overpass, but again it's mentioned in the manual so at least the previous generation factory stuff had some minor issues.
It would be interesting to hear about the current generation of Acuras with the advance stuff from current owners.
