their navigation system (camera for reverse, xm station, gps system) screen not coming on?

It remains blank when the car starts. If so, what was the cause and solution? Mine is still under warranty so I could take it in but the dealership is a long way away. If it is something I am able to fix, I will do it.

try pressing the day/night button next to the knob, I think it has a sun and moon on it. If that doesn't work take it to the dealer asap.

 

Unless we know the year of your MDX, it is more difficult to diagnose. Is it DVD or HDD?

 

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago on my 08. I pulled it out of the garage and drove about a block and all came on. Nothing was working. Has anyone seen this before?

 

It is a '09 tech/nav

 

I have had it happen on my previous 1st gen and the 08 MDX. Sometimes shifting to reverse does not turn on the backup camera. At that point, shift to P and then shift to R, this has worked for me 100% of the time. It is one of those issues that the dealer will not fix if the tech cannot replicate!

 

Havent seen this with the HDD models. Seems to be more common on the DVD based models. Truthfully though if it happens once in a blue moon, I prob wouldnt worry about it. I know I dont get concerned when my computer at home periodically gives me some lip. Same basic concept. If it starts happening more frequently, it may be worth looking into.
