The correct OEM replacement KYBs for Acuras are the KYB GR-2 Excel-G struts & shocks. If I understand correctly, the Excel-G is their top line, and they supposedly make a lesser line of plain KYB, although I've never recall seeing them.

^ In fact the Excel G is the lowest end on the Strut side, they have a better line with Adjustable Dampening called AGX for the TL struts.
Which is not to say the Excel G are bad, KYB simply do not make a cheap alternative. Only OE Like or better.

I would say for the MDX:

MONROE = The SOFTER more daily driver version.
OEM = The NEUTRAL compromise.
KYB Aftermarket = The HARDER sport solution for the enthusiast.

For those with high miles and budgets, there's also Sensen struts and shocks (cheap, but decent cheap. Go about 70-80k + ). They aren't quite kyb gr but close in ride.
Don't fear the lack of reviews. But go KYB otherwise.
