You may not get any sound out of the nav unit if you change the deck, but it should work. I'll be swapping my deck out this week as mine appears to be dead.

Food for thought: if you have a bose deck now, you have to swap out everything (amps, speakers, deck, sub).

i have a 2004 and changed my deck with a pioneer deh-7100bt. It only has affected the navi voice and the controls on the steering wheel. Also, you do not have to change out the Bose speakers/amp/sub. .

FWIW, my brother works for a stereo shop and said that the bose stuff works at a much lower ohm than most aftermarket stuff. That's why everything needs to be changed. YMMV.
