Wink Acura MDX 2005 rough engine

I live in the mile high city (background info only e.g. 5280 foot elevation) and have noticed that our 05 MDX idles rough (just acquired this machine with 49000 miles) - like one cylinder that does not completely fire. The dealer attributes this roughness to "emission controls". I am a little skeptical of that out! Also, I have a 95 Legend that is very smooth.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

what kind of gas do you use? maybe try shell v power preimium (which is the required grade)

if it is still under warrantee take back to another dealer and ask them to compare it to another 04-06 mdx, if you put up enough of a fight they will fix it

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes, we always use fuel labeled premium. The octane here at this altitude is 91 for premium. But we have not tried Shell V. Do you think there is a real difference in brands in this case?

Good suggestion on another dealer - yes, the auto is still (just) under warranty - we will give that a try. Thanks
