This is pretty much an annual event, with free shipping through March 31. I'm thinking the "normal" pricepoint of $149 is getting hard to defend as people can hook up their iphone to newer cars or simply use google maps directions free via mobile phone. Not to mention that people buying the older used vehicles may have little interest in updates.


That being said, we will probably splurge for the update as there are quite a few new developments in the area and we like the updated business listings. Not to mention a nice resale market for your old DVD on ebay.

tks for this, Boraxo. Just FYI, for my 2013, I can't buy a used DVD on Ebay. The DVD is keyed to my vin. The older MDX, with the DVD player under the seat could use a used DVD, but my model cannot.

Good point. Do you know what year they started using the key codes? Would not want to sell to someone who can't use it. Maybe MDX G3? Thanks.

It was for the +10 MDX that started using your VIN, database version, and Navi S/N to generate an one time passcode from Acura you have to input before you can start to update the database. Pretty much any Acura that replaced the CD-ROM drives and now uses a hard-drive to store the map data.
