2012 MDX Rear Spoiler help

Ok,

So my wife decided to remodel the garage door backing out and hit the rear spoiler (on top of the rear gate). So, two questions..

1) Can you remove the lamp lense? If so, how? If this can be done it can be repaired and repainted pretty easily.

2) Failing, #1, how to you remove and install a new spoiler? You can buy them from Acura painted, but didn't take a good look on how to R/R.

Thanks.

Wow, I thought I was the only one, LOL. Found this thread late, but any updates?

I've no write ups, yet, but my wife backed the car out too quickly while the garage door was opening and the bottom of the door hooked onto the spoiler, ripping it out. Thankfully the wiring and tube going to the brake light and washer nozzle were fine, the grommet just popped out. In any case, I've looked at it and looks like I need to replace the hardware and maybe check the spacers and weather stripping. Found two nice resources for diagrams and part numbers:

Just did this same exact thing....argh! Anybody figure out how to remove the old tailgate spoiler and or install the new replacement? Or have any Service Manual Scans? Thanks so much!

Did you ever get help

Just recently, we had the same thing happen in our household that happened in some of yours. we were backing out of garage before the garage door was completely up, and accidentally partially detached the rear spoiler. I just wanted to see if you were able to have her get any assistance in attaching the spoiler.

Thanks very much in advance,
Pete
