2012 MDX Pricing

I just got a price from 2 dealers for a MDX w/ Tech for $40,000 & $40,300. That's $3,500 below invoice.

larger dealers....bigger discounts. my dealer advertised 389XX at the beginning of the month with 0% financing.

not sure what they would offer now, but the pricing right now on '12 MDX's are pretty good and fairly aggressive.

its the end of the month...try to haggle your way to a sub 40k price point.

How much are people getting for base model? The aggressive pricing is making me want to get one for the wife.

I read on Edmunds' Forum someone got a MDX w/ Tech for $38,500. Is it worth waiting for the 2014 MDX?

My dealer was offering free oil service if I test drove a new Acura. I did it yesterday and was offered an Advance, without RES for $47500 before the $1000 loyalty offer... so $46500.

My dealer sent me a free A1 Service if I test drive a car. The dealer called me and offered me a MDX w/ Tech for less than $40,000 plus dealer fee. Is anyone not paying a dealer fee?

Does that include the $1500 incentive also?

So it looks like invoice plus dealer cash ( 1500) plus loyalty ( 1000) is pretty easy to get. Now if they play fair on trade value it should be a straight up deal.

They didn't. Offered $18.1 trade for a 2008 MDX Sport w/ 83K miles in 'clean" condition. (Acutually, I'm biased, my car is "excellent" but I was trying to play fair)

Edmunds.com says $21K for trade

Anyways, I really have no desire to trade for a new MDX now.
a.) Mine is paid for.
b.) The new one has no compelling features that I'd want to trade for.

Imho, the 2008 looks better. That's subjective, I know, but that's my perspective. The only thing the '12 model has that I really would like is the air conditioned seats. Other than that, nothing on the new MDX is a "must have". The 6 speed tranny doesn't impress, the nav system is upgraded, but what I already have is plenty adequate. I'm going to hold on for a year or two, and see what the new model looks like.

That's what I am worried about also. Mine is an 08 tech with res, and 60 k. New tires but a small ac leak and I'll need brakes soon I'm sure. Well see what they offer, sales manager is on vacation and is supposed to give me a quote tomorrow. They usually are pretty straight forward with me, ive bought 7 Acuras from them.

If anyone is interested,

I was offered 39,500 on a 2012 MDX with Tech
36,000 on a 2012 MDX Base.

These are both prices WITHOUT the 1000 Loyalty/Conquest reward. I think most people are posting prices WITH the loyalty/conquest reward factored in... so in that case.. the price would be
38,500
35,000

This is in the Bay Area, CA

If anyone is interested, I have the dealer's contact. PM me. I told him a few of my "friends" are interested and he has told me he is able to guarantee this price until the end of this month. He told me he's not sure about next month, but he suspects there to be less in stock (and thus higher prices)

Price for Your MDX $39,590.00
Your trade - $7500
Sales Tax FL $2027
Title & Tags $809
Loyalty -$1000
Your Total $33,926.00
I just got this price from a dealer in DC area. They charge $399 processing fee which is included in the Title & Tags. The final price is $38,590 + 399 = 38,989 or $39,000.

not sure depending on inventory...only one way to find out...know the invoice price...then ask for a quote from a bunch of dealers.

I have been looking at used MDXs but if I could get this price I would be all over it. i have an Audi so could get the conquest reward too. I joined the site to respond to you and can't use private messages for 15 days. Ugh. Can you send me an email with the info? It's my user name at Hotmail.

Thanks for any help!

Yesterday I went to a locale dealer. He started at $40,000 and $4800 for my trade. If I get $$6500 for my trade, I'm at $629 per month on a MDX w/ Tech. Some how he called me back and he's at $600 per month. Don't know how he got there. He said the deal was only for July 31. I didn't buy because I don't want to be pressured. I want to take my time. The incentives are for another month.

^^why are you negotiating based on monthly payments?

you just gave the dealer a one up on you.

you should know YOUR price that you are willing to pay and know YOUR price that you are willing to part with your trade in. you and only you should know this info.

dealer will either give you a great deal on the new car and thenscrew you on your trade in. OR the dealer witll give you a great deal on your trade in and just an okay price on the new car.

always negotiate the price of the new car first. talk of how to finance and payments come later once the new car price has been settled on. i would get another quote from a dealer...or better yet sell your car to carmax.

I was negotiating with price and trade-in. Car $40,000, trade-in $7000. That doesn't equal $600/mo. I don't know how he got there. The numbers above come out to more.

2008 Tech RES with 61k, 21500 trade

Over the phone and without any negotiation, I got quoted $6000 off MSRP for a 2012 Advance with Entertainmnent including the conquest and they haven't even seen my trade in yet. Should be similar to numbers above.

$17.04 per $1000 financed at .9% over 60 months. So assume after ttl you finance 35000 or so and that's 600 per month.

Also consider auto trader since they will pay the dealer the value on the certificate. Also, consider tax difference. Only pay tax on net, so if sell car, instead of trade lose the tax savings on 7 or 8K. at 8% that can be significant.

I could have sold my 08 for 4-5k more than the trade, but more work and not that much more net since the trade offsets the tax basis.

Other thought as far as price, I agree always negotiate price of new car, separate from trade. Also, , I would strongly suggest negotiate vehicle price, in writing separate from add ons. I got screwed out of $200 because i deleted some options that were discounted and the vehicle price on the sale order was vehicle plus options, I got confused and they made out. I have not signed final sales documents, so might be able to renegotiate.

Got a new MDX last night. $39,750 before destination and TTL, and they threw in the all weather mats. I didn't negotiate hard and could probably knock off another $750 if I really pushed it. But the sales rep was super nice, and I thought this was a fair price for both parties. After stupid Chicago 10% tax and fees, it was $44,500ish

What is a "conquest" reward? Do I have to own a certain competing model?

That's a pretty good price if that is for a MDX with Tech. I've been shopping for one for my wife and the best prices that I've gotten so far is $39,451 which includes destination and $1000 for loyalty.

$39,451 is still a pretty good price. Pohanka in Northern VA near DC will give the best deal. My son just bought an AWD TL and no one could touch the deal. They are about $1700 below any deal I found in South Florida.

I got my 2011 Advance with RES last September for 51,500. It was nearly impossible to find one. But that was when they were hard to come by because of the Japan earthquakes. Not sure if they are more readily available now.
