2012 MDX-Irregular revolutions between 1200 to 1500 rpm

Hi there,
it’s been a month now that my Acura MDX 2g 2012 is doing some weird things as I’m driving, doesn’t matter the speed but when the engine is between 1200 and 1500 rpm it seems like the gear box doesn’t know if it has to switch the next gear or stay with the current. It’s hard to describe for me but has you driving you feel like the car pulls and push repeatedly and it stay like that till i manually switch with lower gear, pick up some speed and then going with the next gear and the issue it’s gone (I attached a short clip of the rev counter has I was experiencing the issue).
My car has 215.000km just for the record.

Originally I tough it was something related with the gas bc I never own an Acura and I didn’t know about the premium gas. But I only filled up once with regular gas, after that I’m always filling with 91.

I bought a 2 year warranty with Lubrico when I got the car and I’m still covered. I’m planning to bring it in soon, just want to know if anyone of you experienced the same issue.

thank

Massimo

Sounds like trans slippage. Check your fluid level and condition. Look for friction material in the fluid.

Lower gears in particular tend to wear out first. If the vehicle is shuddering and revving up without going anywhere that's def time to get it looked at by a competent transmisson shop. Take it easy on the gas, let the trans shift and don't do any aggessive takeoffs.

Lastly avoid trans flushes they can loosen up the little bit of friction material that's still holding things together.

Update

Hi there,
I brought the car in finally to check this slippage issue.
It Wasn’t an Acura dealer (I’m scare to go around those places bc their prices! lol), but I trust the place since is my mechanic for the past 15 yrs and I trust the manager. They send me to go have my transmission checked to those specialized transmission places (Mr. Transmission in Brampton ON, Canada) and all looks good on the transmission side, not issue at all.
then they tuned up the car replacing all the spark plug since apparently they never been replaced before and my car has 225.000km now.
But so far the problem persist unfortunately and I’m loosing my hope to have it fixed 😞.

take it to acura and more than likely it will be diagnosed as a bad torque converter.
