2011 MDX test drive loaner veh.

Dropped my 2007 MDX base at the Acura dealership to fix a minor interior cosmetic issue. They provided a loaner vehicle 2011 MDX base for the day. I was impressed.

Comparing the 2011 MDX to my 2007 MDX, I noticed something different such as:
  • The steering is a lot easier to turn.
  • When accelerating, the vehicle has a "zip" to it. Meaning a quicker acceleration. It now makes my 07 feel like its "sluggish" if you know what Im saying.
  • When pushing the pedal for accelerating or breaking, it seems a little more sensitive. Would someone agree to this?
  • Rear view camera in the mirror is very helpful.
  • Base rims are nicer looking.

Yes, there probably is a big difference when you consider your 2007 was designed 5-6 years ago. The 3rd Gen is being designed now even though it will not hit showrooms for a couple more years. It should be a stunner.

the MDX's motor was redesigned to have it have a broader power-band with more power in the mid range (even though peak figures stayed the same) and as well with new materials. I think they even managed to increase the rev limit by 200RPM as well.

Acura does amazing resdesigns with their MMC's, the 3G TL looked amazing from 2004-2006, and moreso 2007-2008

^I agree. Acura does major MMCs, imo.
