2011 MDX Running Board Problem
On my 2011 MDX Advance the running board's(08L33STX201G4) rubber pad top has separated from the metal bottom in a couple of places. There is a small gap or bump on the edge of rubber pad where they have separated from the metal. It is about 2 inches long and maybe 1/8 of an inch separated.
It has occurred in two places on both sides (same exact place on both sides).
It is very visible and I want to glue it back down before it fills up with road dirt. I tried some contact cement on one of them and the bubble popped back up when the temp hit 90 degrees. I pushed it back down and it appears to be holding, but I am suspect.
What kind of glue should I use on the other bubbles? I am thinking a 2 part epoxy but wanted to check if anyone else has glued these back on...
Thanks, Dan

OEM Acura parts like the running board are suppose to be under the 4/50,000 mile warranty. It sounds like a product defect. You might have to tell them it was installed by Acura or you purchased the MDX used with the running boards already installed. I've heard Acura sometimes may not cover OEM parts if they don't install.

I can't get a picture to load here, but here is a link:

I don't want to trash the running boards for such a small thing. Just looking for a glue suggestion... The contact cement is holding for now, I was thinking the epoxy may not handle the expansion / contractions as the temperature changes...
