You cannot borrow someone's update disk and install in your system. The new HDD Nav system's are configured to only worke with your own purchased disk, that's why they ask you to provide your system info when you purchase the update so they can code that in to the new disk. This is the only way that they can protect themselves from people swapping disks to load on every one of the Nav systems in their circle of friends. If NAVTEQ did not do that, they'll be out of bussiness beause they cannot make a profit. Also it is stealing in your part, like not buying an original music cd for your system. Order one and it should work fine, the dealer should be able to get the system info for you so you can order the disk that would work for your system and it would only work for your system and bnot everyone else's. Good luck....
