2009 MDX - Drivers Side Lower Panel Under Steering Wheel
Anyone know how to remove the driver's side lower panel under the steering wheel? This is the panel that has the emergency brake release handle in it on the left side. The panel is approximately 21" x 10".
Sorry for the bad pics. I was wiring up my front components and took some pictures. Also my first time posting. I hope this helps...
1) (1st Pic) pop door seal and side panel off.
Unclipped (pull towards you, or the rear of vehicle. You will see a #2 Phillips on the bottom. Left there.
2) (2nd pic) unclipped (pull towards you or the rear of vehicle) the gloss fake wood grain panel to the right of the steering column.
3) ( 3rd pic) pull under dash panel towards you or the rear of the vehicle. Trick is to use a good panel remover pry tool and gently pry right where the clips are. Then the panel should drop down gently. Pay close attention to the ambient air sensor on the right of the under dash panel (4th). You can see how I just gently pull the sensor out of the housing, instead of unplugging it and disconnecting the hose.
Sorry I meant to say in my first pic. That the side panel where the door seal, pops off by prying it towards the door. Basically opening/unclipping out in the direction of the driver's door.
The panel that I said pops off by "pulling towards you" is the "power side mirror switch/headlight washer panel". That's to the left of the steering column.
