I just bought a 2009 Acura MDX and I think it may have an electrical problem. I put my car charger in the front outlet and when I turned the car on the navigation, radio and charger had no power. I thought I may have just needed to change the fuse.. So I took the charger out... About an hour later I came back to my car to go drive to get the fuse and just for the heck of it I decided to try and push the power on the radio and all of a sudden the navigation, radio and power outlet came on. Next time I went to go use the car once again no power to navigation, radio and power outlet. Is this a known issue with the 09's??

Power outlets are rated at 120v/10amps or less. Something is pulling more power causing the outlet to act like a circuit breaker and you have to turn the MDX off/on to reset it. Does this only happen with the car charger plugged in (car charger pulling too much power)? Maybe there is the wrong type of fuse for the outlet?

I have a power outlet in the cargo area on my 2011. Does it do the same thing with that outlet with the charger?

Been testing it for the whole day. Sometimes it will come on even with the phone charger plugged in. Sometimes it won't come on and I have to do what u said "turn it off and turn it back on". One time it just came on by itself while I was driving and then turned back off

That sounds like an intermittent problem like a bad wire and/or a connection problem with the outlet. Was a aftermarket upgrade added to the MDX like an iPod connection, alarm, remote start or hard wire radar detector?

I took it into Acura and they said it was a loose relay wire... Not sure how it got loose but it is working now.... I just added remote start to the car yesterday but the problem was happening before that. Are there any known issues for the 2009 Acuras?? I want to have the dealer fix everything before my 60 day warranty is up
