Power steering does not work at a stand still, once you get moving there is no issues. There is no whine from the pump or foamy PS fluid.
Any ideas?

 

There was a recall on early year MDXs about weak PS Pumps… Solution was to replace the PS Pump for a more efficient one, Which Acura did for free..

 

Yeah......I once called Acura about the very hard steering at stop or low speed on our 08 MDX. I asked about a recall or an updated PSP part number. Acura denied ANY knowledge about ANY hard steering in ANY MDX....
I replaced the pump with one from Rock Auto, I believe, and the steering effort was much easier. For the size, weight, & tire size on the MDX, the Power Steering Pump is very small.
