2008 MDX driver side power door lock doesn't work

Hi Guys,

My 2008 MDX has a weird problem. The driver side power door lock doesn't work. The passenger side door lock, tailgate, and fuel tank are all working fine. While we can manage with it, the issue is when we start the car, we have lean to open the passenger door lock (to open all doors excluding driver door) to let people in as the driver side is completely dead. If we have to open the tailgate, first unlock all the doors using the passenger side door lock and then open the tailgate using the tailgate opener. And the remote (with a new battery and new remote as well) doesn't open any doors either. First is a bigger problem than the remote not working.

Wondering if anyone faced this problem and how you solved it?

Thanks

Andy

more than likely it is a bad drivers door harness that goes from the car to the dash. It takes about 15-20 minutes to replace and is about $30 dollars!

Hi Andy,
I have the exact same problems as you. Did you ever get it fix? If so, was it the wiring harness or something else like the switch? If you could please list all parts and part numbers.
Thanks,
Mike

I have replaced the door lock actuators on all four doors of my 2005 MDX and they are failing again. What could be causing these premature failures? The last actuator lasted 2.5 years. The vehicle has 168,000 miles on it. I purchased 4 years ago with 141,000 miles and according to the service records provided by the previous owner, they replaced all four actuators just prior to selling.

How did you change the actuator? Do you have a video or video link?
