2007 MDX purchase
2007 MDX purchase
Acura dealer offering me a clean red 2007 MDX (sorry, don't know specific shade of red/maroon), with Nav and rear camera, with 125K miles, for $16,500. Yes, lots of highway miles, from NJ, one owner, but I know these 07's with less miles go for lots more $, into the mid 20's easily.
It has a clean Carfax, and timing belt was done (not water-pump, not sure needed?)
Your thoughts very much appreciated, may buy tomorrow.

what does kbb, edmunds and nada have to say?
the color i believe is dark cherry pearl. having a clean carfax means nothing until you see the car and make aure everything is where its suppose to be and the paint matches. and that's a ton of miles! you also need to find out how it drives as well. it is an acura and they are built to last as long as they are cared for.
water pump is usually done with the TB since they are in the same place and you have to remove one to get to the other.
check those three sources for pricing then make a comparison to what the dealer is offering you. if the price is unusually low from what KBB et al say...its either a really great deal or there are some skeletons in the closet.

KBB retail is around $21K, edmund's is around $21K, nada is around high $22k.
this is based on my area of course.
makes me wonder...what's wrong with that car for it to be $5k less than retail. was that the starting price at $16500?

Advertised retail price is a good measure, but also remember that the dealer probably does not have that much into the vehicle to begin with. Again, you won't really know the motive until you see it for yourself.
