We are looking at a 2006 MDX that my FIL just got on the lot as a trade.... He will do key for key on our volvo... The only thing i can find not working is the HFL.

The navi unit seems to work, you can press the talk button on the stering wheel and it beeps and you speek but nothing, it always comes back with pardon, or please repeat.

Went to the function menu to check the mic volume... it never shows any bars when speaking and recording to the mic there..

So is the mic bad or is the HFL whole bad? I pulled out the mic block up in the LIGHT/ONSTAR/GARAGE console and unhooked it and hooked back, still nothing... even in bangin around on that , the mic never picked up any bars


so if just the mic can i buy just that part?
how can i be sure its just that part?

 

2006 MDX HFL not working. Are the 2006 TL and 2006 MDL HFL module the same? It seems from one of the other threads on this site that it is about a 30 minute $170 fix to replace the unit on the ceiling. Thanks to everyone for sharing on this site. Dealer wanted $800 but wouldn't guarantee it would work and said my phone wasn't compatible. All of a sudden with an iPhone 4...really!
