My 2005 MDX screen giving me "please check disc". I can't change hvac or get navi. It started to go out just sometimes now it's all the time. I tried cleaning DVD ROM lens per this link:

So I've never upgraded DVD disc in fact first time I ever took it out was today. It has a few scratches on it but doesn't look that bad. My question is how many had similar problem and new upgraded disc fixed problem?? I'm figuring that's my next step before I send out DVD ROM to alpine to repair at about $358 seems like the recent quote.
