2003 MDX Stalling

hello. I tried searching about this problem but it doesn't seem like there is too much about it, or I just couldn't find much about it on this site.

it's my girlfriend's car and the car seems to stall at random times. When she's reversing of the driveway, slowing down at a red light... Basically when the RPM goes down, it goes way down and the car stalls. It happened 3 times yesterday when she was driving and then I went for a spin too and it would have stalled if I hadn't reved the engine up a little.

Does anyone have this problem and how did they solve it? I read on mdxers . org about this but there doens't seem to be a solution, or I just didn't see the solution there. The site doesn't have that much traffic like this one does.

Also no check engine light, or any codes are being thrown out by the car.

Please help

Gonna flip through my service manual, i'll see if I can find anything on it. brb.

There may be a few things you can try, looks through this part of the manual, they have some info on stalling:

my car does the same thing. could be the idle sensor? also, is it when the car is already warmed up or is this when the engine is still cold? mine stalls when the engine is still cold. I've been told its the idle sensor and a combination of the spark plugs and valva gasket leak...

If you have access to a scanner, check the map voltage at idle ( engine warm, no electrical loads, radio, fan, etc ). The voltage should be under .95 volts. If it is .95 volts or higher it most likely needs a valve adjustment. Sometimes 03-06 mdx don't throw misfire codes with tight exhaust valves. I have had random stalling complaints from tight valves, with no cel.

Cleaning out the the throttle body, fuel injectors and gunking out the EGR valve could be easy fixes but as mentioned, it could need a valve adjustment. It might also be related to a vac leak but probably a farther stretch then the aforementioned. How many miles are on it and has the 105k service been performed?
