2001 MDX Transmission Failure?
HI? My car has only 120k miles on it but transmission is broke all liquids are gone. Car is 2001 Acura MDX 3.5l v6
It costs pretty much 5000$ to replace new transmission on it (labor and all the liquid included) Local Acura dealer gave me this estimate.
Any body know does 2005 year MDX transmission fits on 2001 MDX?
Thank you for your help.

They are different. The 01-03 and the 04-06 transmissions are different models (I can't seem to find the model numbers). As you probably know, the 01-03 trannies were subject to failure and had a recall issued back in 2004. Your solution is to have Acura partially pay for a new transmission.
How? Lob Acura Client Services a call and tell them how displeased you are with the fact that your usually trusty MDX has only 120K miles on the car and that your Acura dealer is commanding $5000 to fix the transmission. Tell them you're aware of the 2001-2003 transmission recall and that you need Acura to help you.
