seems to be the be a pretty decent trade price based on edmund's, KBB though nada values are about $1-2000 more. also depends on the market you are in as well.
private sell will yield the greatest amount of money return on the car.
dealer's will always try and low ball you. so if you know a range and what you are willing to let the car go for. since it's a trade in you also have to consider what type of deal you are getting on the new purchase. there is always a give and take with the dealer.

In my experience, selling privately has only been one headache after another. I basically accept less for a trade because I view it as paying the dealer to sell my car for me, there are many things in life I pay others to do, selling my car is one of them. The up side is that I always stand firm on the advertised value on KBB, I typically will get the best deal possible on the new vehicle because they're not having to get me on the trade in side, I save 7% in tax on trade in, the transaction is streamlined, one day deal in most cases, and most importantly, someone else gets to sell my car for me. But to each their own....

You know, I haven't driven the new Jeep, but I will say it is definitely nice looking, catches my eye on the road for sure. I think you summed it up with the available options, all those things should be available for the MDX. As I remember though the new Jeep came out shortly after we purchased the MDX, otherwise I would have cross shopped. Good luck with your decision.
I'd say it's an okay price. Hard to find a private buyer that will have that much money to buy a car. Financing buyers usually go to the dealer to get approved for a loan. Instead of getting preapproved by their bank, and then shopping for the car. It's much easier to sell a $15K car compared to a 30K+ car yourself. If you have a lein on it yourself that just complicates it further.
