'09 MDX Dimension

A quick question for MDX '09 owners. I am planning to ask someone with an 09 MDX to help me bring a TV from a local store. I wanted to know the dimension of the rear cargo area. The box is 43 inches high and 60 inches long. Would it fit with the rear seats folded? I want to keep the box straight and not tilted. Just wanted to check before I ask him. TIA.

Ooo tough one. The length at 60 inches should be fine with the front seats down. The height at 43 inches will probably be a problem. The interior cargo height on an 06 MDX is 35.4 inches, i doubt the 09 will be ~8 inches higher.

We brought our boxed 46" LCD home and had no problems...we laid it down in the rear of our 2006 MDX. If it's a relatively short driving distance, there's not a problem with laying a television down sideways (glass face up).

Of course plasmas are a little more sensitive to glass cracking, but for short distances, you should be okay as long as the TV is relatively flat and not prone to too much shaking. If the TV wasn't boxed and surrounded by packaging, then I would highly recommend upright travel...but sideways for short distances is okay if boxed in factory packaging.

Thanks for the responses. It is a DLP TV so it has to be straight. Tilting it sideways for anything longer than a few mins will definitely screw up something with the alignment etc

you are not supposed to lay a flat panel tv down on its side for transport. any fool can argue otherwise but the packaging is designed to protect it standing up. break it and then lie about how you broke it and youre probably out the cash.
