Beginning of March my HFL stopped recognizing my phone. I've gone thru all operational troubleshooting or at least everything that doesn't require a multimeter. I've tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery and touching the terminals together. Somehow even after hours like this the backup battery doesn't discharge. After I reconnect the battery my codes (navi & radio) are requested, but when I enter the codes my saved info (radio stations and previous destinations) is still available. Any suggestions for resetting the computer (I'm assuming it's a rebootable computer) or any other ideas? It's been suggested that I may need a new control unit which is about $700 plus labor and diagnostics. Help!!

My 2009 stops recognizing my iPhone about once a week! At first i would do the setup, link thing and now I just ignore it. After a few start ups the phone is back on the radio screen so I use it....

Thanks for replying. What you're describing is more of an inconvenience, but usable. Mine is constant. It's been over a month and it never recognizes my phone.

Try doing a soft reset on your phone. Remove the battery for at least 10 seconds and re-install. Your phone is a very powerful mini computer that needs rebooting to reset the filing system back to normal. Good luck.
