Just curious what my car would be worth. Its a garaged 08 TL-S, Silver/Black no accidents, clean inside and out. No mods outside of 35% tint all around, weathertech mats and synchromesh for good measure. No issues ever with the car. 49k miles.
6 speed. I see them on auto trader for up to 24K. Just wondering, I have new car itch

yeah, you're not getting more than $24k for it.

List it for 24K to see if any biters.

While I understand yours is newer, and this is merely an opinion- but considering i paid about $12k for a base 2004 with 16k miles, one owner, no accidents.... Not one flaw, with the weather tech mats

I'd say $17-18k at best

Huge difference between an 04 auto to a 08 TL-S Manual.

the tl-s definitely hold their value for a while - if they remain low mileage...once they start racking up the mileage the price is around 10-12k..it's better to sell private rather than doing a trade in. I cant see you getting less than 20k with your miles - im basing all this info on how it is in Canada.

it all depends where you are. Here in western Canada I've only seen TL-S for 16k-21k and maybe one or two listings a month. Checking Ontario's listings I see a lot more TL-S for 12-14k..

I'm guessing you can get 21-22 for yours.

Can you do me a favor? I just got a 2007 Type-S in ASM two months ago (still all stock) and was thinking about 35% tint (darkest allowed in Massachusetts). Would you mind posting pics of yours so I can see how it looks? Please.

Cars have 3 values: trade-in, private sale and retail, from least to most, in that order. Location matters too.

You are private sale, and a dealer is retail.

Sounds like it could be a pretty good car. Not super low mileage, but not high either. Since I'm ALWAYS searching the used car market and keeping an eye out for Type S's here are my thoughts.

The good is that even though it's not crazy low mileage, you still have lower than I would say 90% of the cars out there. ASM is one of the more common Type S colors, but silver in black would be a desirable color to many. No accidents is very big plus. If it has low owners that's even better.

KBB value private party in excellent condition currently says $19.7. But that's not entirely accurate as kbb actual thinks manual trans is worth less when in reality they are highly desirable. If it were my car and it was an exceptional example, I would list it at maybe $22 and probably take somewhere in the $21's. If I were to list my MRP Ebony 6mt that has 15.5k miles, I would probably list at $25 and go from there and see what interest it brings.

^^^^ This.....it's not worth more than $20k, even as a manual.

To the dealership manual is worth less. Manual car sales always tend to be a fraction of automatic's in north america. I'd say you're aiming for a specific minority when you try to sell a 6MT at a higher price so expect the listing to be up for a while.

I think 19-20k is your number. List for 21,000 and be willing to negotiate a bit.

So this mean I will see you listing the MRP TL any time soon in the black market?

Dealer ussually butt rape people trade in a MT car especially TL-S, their statement "no body want to do shifting in a mid side luxury sedan and it gona take awhile for us to sell" give them ridiculous offer such at $10k or $13k MAX. When they sell the car they knew the buyer are enthusias therefore the statement change "this car is rare and you know there isn't one clean looking as this one, therefor our price is very competitive" turn around selling for $21k. Dealer actually made money this way using car that doesn't offer a lot in MT like Acura. After all the TL-S MT isn't a civic.

^^^ that is exactly correct. When you go to trade it in the manual is bad. When they list it it becomes super rare and sought after lol. When they get a clean low mile 6MT Type S they know what they have and they know it will sell for good money.

As for my Type S, every now I then I think about if I should consider listing it and if it sells it sells if not who cares. But honestly, im not sure I have it in me to let this one go. With my other Type S's I would always stumble upon one that I like more or whatever, but knowing that with this one if I sell it I will likely never be able to find one like it again just has me holding onto it. I absolutely love the car and to this day everytime I see a Type S on the road I hurt my neck staring at it lol. Its a garage queen tho thats for sure. I think I drove once last week. Most people would say whats even the point....sometimes I agree One thing is for sure though, when I do drive it its like driving a brand new car and I love it that much more everytime!

I'd agree with most, somewhere between $18-20K is the real value. Just because someone posts theirs up for 24K doesn't mean that's the market value.

Aren't WE the gauge of what the fair market value of that car would be to the original poster? I mean, there is no better audience to sell that to other than the people on this thread and site, right?

If he were the original owner, and all service records were documented, and the car was in perfect garaged condition as he states..... I would offer $19,500 for it.

However.... my personal limit, in the back of my head that I would actually write a check for.... would be $21,000.

Just saying.
