Well I decided to order just the rear since I have smoked tail lights. My front switchbacks still working fine so I'll just wait till it die. The prices would probably dropped when that time come.

The front ones on the 07-08 base are 7443. I can confirm as the amber front ones I have sitting here that were in my 08 base are indeed 7443 and my receipt from a previous set of amber LEDS from v-leds also shows 7443.

Front turn signals:
04: 7443
05: 7443
06: 7443
07 base: 7443
07 Type S: 1157
08 base : 7443
08 Type S: 1157

from this post: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...17&postcount=1

I just canceled my order for front only and getting front and read V3 tritons. My car will be so bright that they'll be needing a seeing eye dog and learning braille after looking at my turn signals at night.

may be 35% off now but you were one of the first ppl around to get them, so thats a premium you pay for. While all of us were drooling at your pics on your thread, you were busy enjoying them on your car!

Tritons are only turn signals. If you're looking for other bulbs, bottom of page 1 in this thread I posted a link which will explain what bulbs this car takes.

I accidentally ordered the 6k ones. I might be ok with that. Anyone know of some good pictures to show the difference between the 5k/6k tritons for the white color?

Perfect timing in finding this, went ahead and ordered:

Reverse lights:
http://www.vleds.com/bulb-number/rev...79-1-pair.html

Door Lights
http://www.vleds.com/bulb-number/min...58-1-pair.html

Vanity Lights
http://www.vleds.com/bulb-number/min...25-1-pair.html

Now I'm just picking through looking for switchbacks, fogs, and DRLs. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be from Vleds.

I was looking at these for Switchbacks - http://www.vleds.com/bulb-number/tai...-pair-b-o.html

general question, if you buy the whole kit with resistors and all for the triton, is it plug and play?

Yes

Edit: Don't hold me to that. It should be, but I'm not positive. I have the turn signal resistor mod soldered on the relay under the dash so I haven't had to add resistors to each LED.

But from the way these plug in, you should plug the wires into the socket, then that runs to the resistor and then to the bulb. I'd call VLEDs to confirm.

Yup 100% plug and play. I bought exactly that setup for my 08 Type S. Front park/turn V3 LED's, rear turn V3 LED's, and the V3 resistors. It was all as easy as plugging in headphones into a headphone jack.

For another $20, you can get the Tritons which are twice as bright (320 lumens vs. 600 lumens). Seems like a no-brainer to me.

The V3 Tritons switchbacks come with a controller box, so there is some extra hardware to mount. The non-switchback V3 Tritons don't need the controller box. Other than that, yes, they're all plug and play.

I'm assuming the extra hardware is for the logic circuitry to perform the switchback???? If so has anyone tried to also wire in the side markers to the control unit to get the same Type 2 switchback functionality.

That is my main drawback to the Triton's is that there are only Type 2's available. I wonder if you don't hook up the control unit could you get the Type 1 (AW) functionality....

Can anyone confirm this with me. I have a 08 tl base and i want to order the v3 triton switchback so that means i need to order the 1157 bulb with the 1157 base adapter and also the resistors?

But this page says my bulbs are 7443 https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-acura-tl-bulb-sizes-list-3g-garage-g-077-a-691135/

If it is the 7443. Do i get the 7443ck or the 7443 7440

I ordered 7443 7440 for my front and back LEDs and I have a 2008 base.

The 6K switchbacks should be delivered tomorrow. Looks like the Amber ones I order for the rear are on back order though so I get to wait for that.

Hopefully I'll have time to install the V3 Tritons this weekend.

For those that are interested. I contacted vleds about not using the control module on the switchbacks. They said that it "MUST" be used as they control the LEDs and that they will fry without the control module....

Now I just have to figure out how to sync my side markers with them and not destroy anything.

Yes, the single color bulbs do not have a module like the switchbacks.

Those are the red Tritons I installed on my car, notice there is no module box.

And here is the switchbacks...

Didn't even touch em lol

The 2nd pic I posted above is exactly what mine looked like (because they're switchback).

The switchbacks have a white wire running from them which you can tap into your positive headlight wire and when they come on, the Triton will dim 50%, which in reality might be a good thing at night...these bulbs are a little brighter than I thought they would be.

My brother described them as "asshole bright".

^-- I just put the Amber LED in the Rear turn signal and I have to agree that they are BRIGHT. I believe my expression was "Holy balls batman." I hadn't even planned on hooking up the lead to the headlights but now I might. I'll still do the initial install with them disconnected to see how it turns out first.

Undying, where did you mount the control box for the switchbacks?

This is what the heat shrink is for. It helps keep water away from the power connections as well as keeping them from coming apart.

The connections at the top have the heat shrink and the ones at the bottom don't. I also put the dielectric grease around the large metal barrel of the power connectors before pushing them together.

FYI to those getting the switchbacks. Double check the screws on the control box. I decided to take mine apart to get a pic of the PCB for later review and was glad I did. The screws are self tapping into the aluminum and when they were assembled the person over tightened them and they were stripped. The end cap was not making solid connection which would have allowed water to the into the control box.

To test the screws apply a very small amount of pressure clockwise (tightening). You are not trying to tighten the screw any more, just seeing if it is tight or if it spins in place.

The second control box didn't have this problem. I'm wrapping electrical tape around the one with the stripped screw holes to apply extra pressure to make a solid seal on the end cap.

On my '06 I'm not using the adapter collar. The tails I'm using the smallest diameter and thinnest gasket. On the front I'm using the smallest diameter and the thickest gasket.

Anyone know what wire to tap into for connecting the white wire to the headlight power lead? I turned those bad boys on last night and at full brightness they overpower the headlights. Crazy.

Buda I noticed you said you ordered amber rear turn signals. I'm assuming your rear tail lights are completely clear? Because the factory ones have a red diffuser in the turn signal area so I would imagine a amber LED inside a red diffuser is useless.

Are your tails completely cleared out?

The Triton switchbacks are actually $139.99. They were only $99.99 for people who pre-ordered it. $139.99 for everyone else. With this 20% off (that has now expired) it still costed about $111

The red diffuser is still in but I plan to replace it with a clear diffuser at some point. The tritons are so bright and a lighter amber that the rear turn signals are very visible still. I'm doing a video to show the difference.

What do you mean by smallest diameter? Smallest diameter screw? And you are NOT using a adapter collar for the front?

Please help me with troubles shooting. I just finished the installation. The front turn signals won't light up unless i turn on the headlight switch one turn( for parking light ). I also installed 2 CLS boxes for the rear, still getting hyper flash.
