brian6speed is only running on 1 cylinder with a sheered intake valve and stuck exhaust valve. He's the butt of most jokes in Ramblings. He says the most asinine shit and the funny thing is he's not even trolling. Not worth the energy.

Almost forgot, I sold the 338 Looking for a good deal on a 300 Win Mag. It just seems more practical if I had to lug it around for miles and it doesn't cost a $5 bill every time you pull the trigger.

After the previous posts, I talked to dad about the hunting rifles in storage and whether he was going to send them to me. I thought he still had the 30-06 but he told me he sold it for a 7mm rem mag for the yearly elk trips in Montana. Apparently he dropped a bull from several hundred yards with the 7mm rem mag. I immediately became interested.
Throw 7mm RM in the hunt as well. Both a great value. The 7mm RM is pretty nice ballistically speaking and near the same price point as the 300 WM.

Great news for me!
I was having this same issue where a lot of times my tl would loose significant power in low rpms. Felt like i lost all torque and the engine would sort of hesitate below 4k rpms. But in vtec it still retained power.
Ill skip straight to the point. I ended up replacing my secondary o2 sensor, and wow the car has been driving absolutely amazing! Apparently the secondary o2 sensors DO affect fuel trim!!

Guys, I'm obviously late to the "party", but I just saw the comments made on October 27th. There is NO place for that kind of stuff on AcuraZine.

I hate to be the one to bring this thread back from the dead...lol...but I thought I would tell everyone what I have found with my 08 TL 3.2 with 70k miles. I too am one of the unlucky ones with a major lack of power during warm weather. But recently the car has been even worse than before, and it has been happening at lower temperatures than before, around 40 degrees F. I had found that the poor running has happened in correlation with a change in temperature (below freezing in the morning on my way to work and above 40 on my way home). So I started by checking out the intake air temp sensor, in these vehicles they are a thermistor type sensor that is inversely proportional to the temp (temp increases and resistance decreases and vice-versa). Luckily I also have a 2006 Ridgeline in my driveway that runs excellent all the time, and the sensors for both vehicles are identical. So first I took both sensors out, taped them together and submerged the tips into an ice water bath to stabilize the readings and compare the resistance. They were within 10 ohms of each other and stayed steady. Then I transferred them to one of my furnace heat registers while the furnace was running. When I checked them this time, the resistance of the truck sensor slowly drifted down as the temperature increased which is normal. However, the resistance of the sensor that was in the car jumped to the far lower end of the scale and started drifting up to meet the other one! So I think it's safe to say that the sensor is a little screwy, but not enough to cause a CEL. I swapped sensors between the truck and car and I am waiting to see how things go.
Also, one more thing I noticed comparing the 2 vehicles. This has to do with some people doing grounding upgrades to improve the vehicle's electrical system. The TL has 2 braided ground jumpers that run from the engine to the body and one #6 awg ground cable that runs from the body to the battery's negative terminal. Now on the Ridgeline it has a #6 awg cable that runs from a bracket on the starter to the battery's negative terminal and a #6 awg cable that runs from the body to the negative terminal too! So the truck has essentially twice the current carrying capacity that the car does and the car probably has more load because it has more options. I can't imagine why the car doesn't want to crank over and stay running during below zero mornings!
Anyone have anything else to add or any questions??

I never had any loss of power issues under hot weather (knock on wood), but both ground cables you speak of were very corroded on my car. These have no insulation. The battery's negative cable also had very corroded ends. I ended up replacing all 3. Didn't notice any diff but peace of mind I suppose.

Ok so the intake air temp sensor swap did reveal that I do in fact have a problem with the sensor in the TL. The short time that the sensor was in the truck revealed a very similar but more drastic loss of power, surging and bucking. So I ordered a new one today. I also ordered a Ridgeline ground cable to install on the TL to upgrade its ground capacity. The bracket on the starter where the ground cable terminates is there on the TL too. For $20 plus shipping for the cable its a no brainer!

Here is how to upgrade your grounding system. hyper voltage kit not needed, just the additional ground wires.

I did notice something also that may help with the diagnosis of some of these power loss issues. Every single time my TL has this issue, I can tell not only by the bucking and surging, but by the sound of the engine as well. Under good running conditions the engine has an awesome throaty growl to it during normal acceleration, but when its acting up, the engine has almost no growl at all unless you hit the VTEC. I can predict when the car is going to have power loss just by the sound of the engine. Also currently with the bad sensor, it runs great when its below 32 degrees F but its a tossup when it gets any warmer than that. One thing is for sure, those intake air temp sensors definitely fail when warm or hot, just not enough for the computer to flag it.

I have similar problem
Hi, need help. I have an old audi a3 with 1.9tdi (66kw) motor. The thing is it loses power when it's hot outside. It's like don't accelerating after 2000 rpm. And, if I stop the car and push it to 4000 rpm while standing, the power will come back and it's ok untill next turning on/off. Also interesting, during the winter don't have that problem.

As long as the thread got bumped, let's get back to discussing the major issue here: Majofo and his Kayne West syndrome

That statement makes a lot more sense nowadays
I won't deny it, it's true
I like tig ole bitties, fat booties, and MAGA!
I'm also a lot less stable, mentally and emotionally
and not a particular fan of Drake
