Cracked air intake hose

Noticed my air intake hose has a 4 inch or so crack 2mm wide. Could this cause reduced mpg?

probably wont cause any noticeable performance or mpg difference, but you will definitely get dust and dirt into the engine which is definitely not good for it

Mine was cracked big time where it connects around the throttle body. Price matched an online dealer and got one from my local dealer for like $13.

Bought the car 2 months ago and it was probably like this. Who knows for how long it's been cracked.

I asked the opinion of two car guys. One said I should clean my throttle bodies the other said no. What do you guys think?

Not on this car since there's no mass airflow sensor, most other cars have them and any leaks between the engine and MAF will affect how it runs. Still worth repairing so you don't have unfiltered air going in.

Clean the TB periodically.

I had a crack at the throttle body like many, I just duct taped it for a couple months.
Then my friend gave me his accordion tube since he upgraded to CAI.
