'06 TL Timing Belt and Oil Pump 64k

Just recently got a TL from a family friend and I think it's time to get the timing belt done. Just wondering if it's safe to drive it for a couple thousand more miles, or to get it done ASAP.
Also my Acura dealer said the oil pump is seeping into the pan.. are these recommended to be done at the same time? Because the estimate they have me costs about 4500 for everything, and that is simply too much for me right now..
Would like to get some insight from some Acura specialists.

No. When the MID shows a "4". Read the manual.

Into the pan?? Huh?

Any oil on the pavement/floor after sitting overnight? If not, probably nothing to worry about. Probably just another crooked dealer...

Not sure what you mean by MID. I'll look into it when I get a chance.
nothing is leaking yet, it just says to monitor it. And my bad, it says oil seeping *onto* the pan, not into.

The MID is the display on the instrument cluster that tells you what/when maintenance items are due.

The on-line owners manuals for the TL can be viewed through links on the Acura Owner website and here: https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...t-pdfs-851625/.

The timing belt change code usually comes up after 100K+ miles-- maybe closer to 110K depending on how the car was driven.
Independents and a few dealers charge more than $600, but less than $1000 for changing the timing belt, water pump, etc. Don't bother with dealers who want to charge $1800+, even if it includes new spark plugs.

Don't bother with "recommended" fixes for any oil "leak" or seepage unless oil drops hit the ground.

Welcome to AZ.

Wow thank you! I was gonna get a second opinion from a few shops in my area, cause I do know the pricing is way over.
Is also like to add that my current jib is a delivery driver and that is the vehicle I use so I do a lot of city stop and go driving.
I'm just really nervous on it breaking down in me and causing damage to the engine.

I have 72k on my 2006 and it is still going strong. I agree don't change the belt until the 4 displays. Many people claim the belt looks near new when they replace theirs. I also have a 2005 Honda pilot with 98k miles on original belt as well. I'll be replacing that at the 105 k interval after my daughter leaves for college and I get the car back. I know Hondas have interference motors but have never heard of a belt breaking when driving a a normal manner.

I've got 22,500 miles on my 2006 TL with the original timing belt. I'm in no rush to change it. I'll probably change out the OEM tranny fluid for a quality synthetic this summer.
