Is it just me or does it seem like this off season there is a lot of top tier talent moving around? More so than other years IMO.

Local news is reporting Wilfork has come to terms with Texans.

24 year old Chris Borland who was basically just handed the starting linebacker position in SF after Willis' retirement decided to retire himself today due to concussion concerns. He didn't suffer a concussion last year....

Maybe you should adopt a new NFL team like what you do for hockey. How about those Pats? They cheat good.

But this story is bigger than that. A perfectly healthy 24 year old with millions ahead of him decides to call it quits because of concussions. Not a great thing for the NFL.

A lot of players have been retiring early the last few years. It seems moreso this year. Plus with parents keeping their kids out of pop warner, the talent pool might suffer in a few years.

A lot of older NFL players are not doing so well. I'd be concerned if I played a high-impact position. These long-term impacts seem to be serious.
I played four years between the age of 12 and 15 (late 70's and early 80's). I remember being coached to hit hard without much regard for helmet to helmet impacts. In fact, if your helmet wasn't all marked that was a sign you weren't playing hard enough. Coaches would even hold up players helmets that had the best marks on them to illustrate what it looked like to be playing tough. I doubt you find many doing that today, but I bet the culture has only changed in the past ~5 years or so.

Looks like Jerry Jones is opening a domestic violence shelter.
Hardy
Peterson
Oh wait wrong shelter
What ever happened with the video of Dez's assault?

Not sure what his fantasy stock is worth but LeGarrette Blount has been suspended for 1 game for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

I had Bell last year, and will pick him up again this year as a keeper which will cost me a 2nd round pick. Which if he's suspended might be the right price IMO (high 2nd rounder). He's also going to likely share more time in the backfield too - he got an obscene amount of touches last year and I think that's proven to be unsustainable. I think even with the suspension you can make a strong argument that he's in the group of top 8 or so RBs.
So long as he doesn't lose the starting job while suspended.

Aaron Hernandez convicted of 1st degree murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole today after 6+ days of deliberation by the jury. Such a waste of talent and multiple lives. He had the world by the tail.
Next up for him is a trial for his involvement in a double homicide from 2012.........

^Saw you found the thread for it.
Nothing going on lately. Just pre-draft BS. 2 more weeks. Only free agent that I care about is maybe Miami getting Greg Jennings since Crabtree went to Oakland.

Different county, different crime, different victims. First conviction could be overturned or vacated.
Will all that being said, I see your point and do agree to a certain extent.

I'd say it's because nothing is permanent in these cases. What's life without parole today is overturned five years from now on some technicality. He needs to be accountable for all he did, so even if he finds a way out of one, he's still accountable for the others.

Also the defendant's constitutional right to a fair trial.

The NFL is rescinding their tax-exemption status so they don't have to disclose Roger Goodell's compensation anymore. FYI since he became commissioner in 2007 he has outearned Brady, both Manning brothers, Aaron Rodgers, basically anyone in the NFL.
Idiot idiot Dolphin Dion Jordan, former #3 overall in 2013, suspended for the year for a diluted drug test. Did I say he's an idiot. Him and Josh Gordon can slurp each other.
Who's ready for the draft?

It's more a testament to how underpaid NFL players are. In 8 years an NBA or MLB star can easily surpass him. But yeah even though he sucks at managing the nuthouse he has helped continue the NFL in being the #1 revenue sport.

^You can never have too many pass rushing ends. They tend to rotate. Sometimes on passing downs one of them goes to an inside DL position.
I'm happy with the Fins getting Parker. Stacked at WR with him, Landry, Jennings, and Stills.

I had Landry on my fantasy team last year. It was a pre-mature, but he showed a huge upside. I am going after him again next season.

Was really hoping the Jets would not pick up Williams so the Bears could take him at 7. And I had thought there was a good chance given how decent NY's D-line was.
