Nobody out here knows about the Warriors 5 years ago.
You want to talk about bandwagoners.

I saw a Lakers fan proclaim that because Golden State refers to California, ALL Californians are honorary Warriors fans.

Haven't seen too many Kings or Clippers fans have this retarded mentality, so I guess it's Lakers fans jumping ship after Kobe called it a career.

wait, what's wrong with that? I always favor California teams in every sport (if neither are teams I usually like). I mean, I can't think of any reason (for me) to root for the Cavs anyways... and to be honest, I'm tried of seeing LeBron James in every fucking Finals Am I suppose to watch the Finals and just be neutral?

There's a difference between picking a team to win in the Finals & acting like you're an actual fan of the team.

That's what I've seen a lot of Lakers fans do this season; rooting for Golden State when they have no idea who Davis, Jackson, or Harrington were. When the Warriors FO used to get booed for letting Ellis go.

I highly doubt Kings, Clippers, or Warriors fans were big on the Lakers' always winning when they were the ones on the receiving end on a lot of those losses.

Nope. We are still Lakers fans but we need a reason to continue to watch NBA, so we find the next closest thing (in distance).

Think of it like this, you represent your city when you talk to others about cities. When you argue over states, then you would naturally represent your state, then Country. When we have alien visitors someday, we would argue how earth is better and we represent earth.

Since Lakers are gone, we will cheer for GS because they represent California and West Coast. If Clippers are in the finals against LeChoke, i would root for Clippers too even tho I don't like them at all.

When GS play with the Lakers next year, of course i will go back to being a Lakers fan.

No, they can't be going on the same days with the NHL playoffs especially since GS and Sharks are both from northern Cali (for ratings purposes)

Well, I live in Sacramento. So of course we have the Queens out here.

Who gets a new arena, but will continue to be a shitty team. I'm hearing it a lot because I'm out here.

Running basketball games is tough. It takes a lot out of you. When you consider an 82 game season followed by 4 rounds of playoffs, winning a Final is equivalent to winning a marathon.

Just watching OKC in Game 7, they were exhausted. If GS didn't have 2 nights off, Cleveland would have an extreme advantage.

So, if the Warriors, Clippers, or Kings knocked your Lakers out of the Playoffs, you'd root for that team afterwards b/c they're from California? Would you have rooted for the Kings in 2002 if they had won that series & faced New Jersey? No because you'd look like a fake ass fan cheering on the team just knocked yours out of Championship contention.

If there's anything I can agree with GSW fans this season on, it's wanting disloyal Lakers fans to get off riding their team's success just b/c they're both from the Golden State. Will be entertaining to see if the team reverts back to the San Francisco Warriors when they move to the new Chase Center.

This is kind of cool....

Varejao is the first player to play for both Finals teams in the same season.

As as i have for many years.

I dont know about you but when 2 teams are competing, you have to have a favorite other wise it is boring to watch.

So to answer your question, i would cheer for any west coast team vs. Cleveland.

If the team that is playing against Cavs are Spurs, i would root for them too. Yes because they represent WEST and that is where i am from.

Now if Spurs are against Lakers in the West Final, then Lakers
If Spurs are against OKC or GS, then i have no preference and i don't care.

See the pattern?

Similar to NBA all stars, you want the team that represent your coast to win right?

As i have never rooted for Clippers but if they were going against Cleveland in the Finals some day in the far far future, i just might.

Similar to politics, i am not a fan of Hilary but if she is going against that Clown Trump, i might just have to go with her.

No it depends on the players, coaches, if they have ties to my teams, how many rapists/wife beaters are there, style of basketball, previous titles, etc. I'm not easy to please :snob:

I will NEVER root for the Kings. If the Kings went to the finals every year, I'd root for the east coast team every time. I'd rather watch one full day of Golf and not understand it.

Well of course everyone has different reasons to root for a team.

As a Lakers fan, i have to root for someone. or i just dont watch it.
and i am sure that someone will never be LeChoke. so whatever the team that represent the West Coast is my team until next year.

If LeChoke comes to Lakers... fuk... i dont know what i am gonna do

That doesn't address what I said bc you know that's bullshit. No Laker fan would have rooted for the Kings in the Finals and vice versa. A huge chunk of teams within a conference are rivals and a lot of people would rather see the other team win than their rival team.

If there is no hate, then it is not sports.

hating is what makes sports interesting to watch and it is what would cause a family argument on dinner table.

I rooted for USC against t.u. in the 2005 Rose Bowl/NC. Fucking Trojans.

Anyway, here's my bold prediction. GS blows the Cavs out in first two games. Cavs win game 3, but GS steals one in Cleveland. They finish it off in game 6.

Still not sure who I'm rooting for though.

I've since read the other replies. I would never root for t.u., ever. But I do like every AFC West team even though I am a Broncos fan. I would root for the Chiefs, Raiders, or Chargers given the chance. I think it just depends on the amount of hatred in your sports heart. Given that Golden State has only recently become relevant and the Lakers haven't been, I don't see why Lakers fans would have much reason to hate them.

Oh, I wouldn't ever root for the Mavericks either. Ever.

I dont understand why Lakers fan would hate GS? If anything, the most hated team in the WC by the Laker fans are Clippers and the reason is obvious.

Now i think about it, it is pretty logical for me to root for GS.

-I wanted Spurs to go to the finals because they had the best chance beating Cavs
- That didn't happen. They got beat by OKC which is a team that i actually like
- So i rooted GS to beat OKC in revenge because they removed the best chance of beating Cavs and i know OKC can't beat Cavs.
- Now GS is going against Cavs, so naturally i would root for GS

Seems pretty logical to me The problem has always been the Cavs (Lechoke)

I can see paying attention isn't a strong point for you.
Would you have rooted for the Kings in 2002 if they had won that series & faced New Jersey?
Based on your last reply though, appears you're really just a person who only gets into the sport this time of year. Or one of those pathetic LeBron haters who want to chime "2/7!".

Typical Lakers fan of the past 3 years.

You know, I thought that at one point in the third quarter. The West battled hard to put a champ in the finals. The Cavs cruised in. I hope this isn't a display of the West retaining dominance. I want a competitive series to watch.

I know I said GS would blow out games 1 & 2, but I thought they would do it on lights out shooting, not half-ass defense from their opponent. That was just pathetic to watch.

They got close, but the Cavs' bench has to step up. I think they cost them the game with that 45-9 bench score.

Reporter afterwards said James is 1-6 in Game 1 Finals (he won against the Mavs in '11).

It is called i have a job at day time. I could only glance for a few secs and provide reply. To answer your question, in 2002 i was busy studying for college, i barely paid attention to the Lakers let alone the Kings.
I follow NBA all year and if i want to hate on Lechoke then that is my choice. The difference between me and the typical Lechoke haters is I would agree with you that he is the all around best player in the league now but that doesnt mean i have to like him for reasons like this:

and what is a typical Lakers fan? You sound like one of Lakers haters who get a chance to talk shit about Kobe "2/7!"

and not only i follow NBA, i put my $ where my mouth is and luckily i won tonight. What did you do?
