^^agreed. I can't see them beating OKC as is. Westbrook would likely eat Nash or Kobe alive. I also don't trust Nash and Gasol/Bynum against a CP3 pick-and-roll.
But they get worlds better in offense. They get Nash, but they also get a full training camp, and a full year under Mike Brown's system. bynum will benefit most from Nash, but now Kobe and Pau get to put their minds together with a great point guard for once in their careers. The benefits are synergistic as opposed to additive.
In other words, the positives will outweigh the negatives. Its a smart team with a full season, they'll figure something out.
And as you alluded to with Howard, they may not be done dealing. We got Nash for 3 years and Kobe for the next 2, so there maybe more motivation to build the team out to its best potential quite quickly.

And what Kobe wants, Kobe gets.
We probably will as we have no strong bench players, so many are hoping Cuban offers Aaron Brooks a deal & a backup center.
The only positive thing here is that we should have cap room again for next year's free agents & can actually offer them something. Word is Dallas will be waiting to make Howard & Chris Paul big contracts next season.
But, Texas teams are going to have a hard road next season, & likely remain the way they always have ; Houston-->Dallas-->San Antonio.
Alot of people think that Nash isn't the answer for the Lakes, but honestly, considering what they gave up (late first round draft picks), the Lakes get him for literally nothing! Replace last season's Fisher/Sessions with Nash and the Lakers easily have 10+ more wins. Now all they need is a spot up shooter.... maybe Mitch should put in a call to Ray Ray?

Yup, the bench sucks. I do think they have more leverage now with Howard, if they want to go that way. Orlando is much more motivated to get something for a guy that wants to leave, whereas the Lakers aren't necessarily as desperate.

Clippers are going to sign both Billups and Crawford. they canceled the meeting with Ray Allen, so I think he's yours Heat guys.

I like Steve Nash but I think we gave up to much 2 first round picks 2 second round picks, a 9 million trade exception and $3 million in cash for a player that will probably play 20 minutes a game and is declining by the minute. I hope it works out but he's definitely not the player he was even 2 years ago not to mention that yet another defensive liability.

That's the second slap in the face to Lin. If he does to the rockets, Im hoping he torches them. The Knicks does have a history of bad contracts but they get this guy out of nowhere and doesn't offer him a contract.

I'm Down Right Fierce!
^ Even though Dolan is an idiot, there's no way he's letting Lin (the cash cow) go. Linsanity drove up MSG stock, got MSG and Time Warner to settle their cable dispute, and increased sponsorship/viewership from asia.
I mean Lin only played a third of the season and had the 2nd most sold jerseys last year.
The Knicks will likely match any offer for Lin, even if it means paying the luxury tax.

Slap in the face to the team he started with, the team who got him a championship after he said he was close to signing a contract here & wanted to end his season with us.
But I guess with NY losing Nash, Kidd saw his opening.
And agree with Lin. I can't see Dolan letting Jeremy go. He offsets his costs in millions.

All I've read is NY matching. Congrats to Lin on turning a 1/3 season into a huge payday.
OMG local news got owned by a fake twitter account pretending to be Wojnaranowski (sp) from Yahoo. The fake account reported a Ray Allen deal was done and they went with it. Mind you the real account is verified.

Weird how players are going to their 'rival' team. IMO, rivalries don't mean all that much to player that are Ray and Nash's age.

Ray Allen to the Heat saddens me, but I understand. I dunno if these points were said, but I'll sound off. Supposedly the rift between he and Rondo was widening, plus Ainge using him as trade bait the past two seasons killed any sense of loyalty he had for the Celtics. Shame, since he had said he wanted to finish his career as a Celtic. And not only that, C's got Jason Terry, which already says they plan on replacing Ray, or at least severely limiting his minutes. The only reason the Celtics offered him twice the money Heat did was because they did not want Allen to go to the Heat, not because they wanted Allen to play for them. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Does anyone else think the Dwightmare (or The Indecision) is quite a few levels higher in douchebaggery than Lebron's Decision ever was? I'm really surprised the media hasn't been slapping Dwight around as much. Dude is a fucking diva.

There it is. I think Lin is taking advantage of the hefty offer Houston gave him so the Knicks could match it.

Nice to see Hinrich back as a Bull. Here's hoping D-Rose comes back soon and returns to his old form soon after that.

I will say this: LeBron, LeChewsLikeCamel, and LeMiniMe played the ENTIRE NBA market to drive up $$$$...they never intended to sign anywhere but Miami.
Chicago, NY, Cleveland, et al...they were all played as fools.
But, I blame the teams. Not LeBron, LeChewsLikeCamel, LeMiniMe. They are the victims here.

Watching first take right now, I think Stephen a is right that orlando needs to trade d12 before the start of the season. I don't think magic fans won't support this team the way they are acting right now. I'm actually surprised that jameer resigned with them
