You ipod experts please help regarding battery
So i got a 4th gen 20gig ipod, and when I got it I charged the battery to 100% and then I put on all the software and transfered music to the ipod. Ive used it like 3-4 times for 40 minutes and I have had it for like a week and a few days. The battery is almost dead, it says battery should last for 12 hours, yet Im gonna get like 4 hours? What is wrong?

I told you this in thelast post you made about buying one.
Batteries overtime lose their charge. And this can affect battery life.
Apple made it so the ipod battery drains itself overa few days when not in use to help extend the life of the battery.
So, when you arent actually using your ipod keep it on charge.

Well if I keep it on charge that means lets say I use it for 2 hours, I dont want to recharge it and lose a cycle each time, because then I will have to pay $100 in no time to replace the battery.

So basically its fine to charge my ipod every time after I use it, and thats equivalent to waiting until the battery dies and charging it?
So what I mean by equivalent is the "life of the battery itself" before having to send it to apple is the same using either method, but charging it every time and leaving it in the charger wont allow the battery to drain and die?

the 500 charges mean 500 full dead battery to fully charged ipod cycles. If you do it mid drain, it wont consider it 1 of the 500 full charges. and the 12 hours is only realistic if you play non stop music withought changing, fastfowarding, skipping songs with the light off. I usually get about 5-8 hours cause I change songs often and leave the light on 5 secs.
