I would hope it is 304, as this austenitic alloy is far superior to the 409 ferritic alloy which is known in the stainless industry as "barely stainless". That being said 300 series stainless steel are much more $$ than 400's as they have at least 7% nickel which is a large $$ of making the steel.

HeelToe: Was the test done on an Base TL automatic? Was the comparision done between a 6speed and an automatic? What is suprising is that the Jpipe tested is simular to the Hytech race header tested on my 06 Civic SI. The power is all about high RPM and thus, this is what I wanted for a jpipe and now the wait has finally paid off not buying one til now.
What I would like to see is a Type-S on the dyno with this pipe. Since their cams are a little more aggressive than the base TL's.

The TL-S is different all around with the bigger displacement, different intake, etc. We are completing testing on a base TL now and will evaluate a TL-S next, most likely one with PCDs.

Can't wait to see some pics Marcus. I've been holding off on the jpipe purchase until this comes to light.

Thanks for update Marcus. I think the test with PCDs is gonna be a great test because it will show how versatile the pipe is. Some Jpipes perform better alone than with a full exhaust. I'm excited for the new results.
Any way you could snap a pic of it? I'm going to assume no because it's not released yet, but can't hurt to ask

R&D doesn't happen overnight, neither does fabrication. They are doing their best to produce the best Jpipe for our application. Be patient. I think this teaser thread was a bit premature, but it sure has us all twitching in anticipation. We need to be patient and come to terms with the fact that this probably won't be ready until the end of the year.

I think Sonnick is right. Still being in R&D I don't forsee this product coming out before the summer is over. Possibly even fall.

Lot's of relica companies would try and get some extra money on this reputable company's time, money, and effort, so bare with them this fall. Just be on the lookout for their first batch orders

but sonnick your post was 2 days old
about RnD and product release....i agree it doesnt happen overnight but this thread was started on 07/19/2011....so its been 10 months....and many customers have waited for this product and went a different way....
as a customer i would like an ETA so that I can plan accordingly.....you dont wanna spend 450 on one jpipe and then sell it and get this one (if it happens to be worlds apart)......so i think its only relevant if people are asking for updates....
if Marcus would have said, "will update on 05/20/2012" then i bet no one will ask "any updates"
in no way I am pointing a finger at Marcus or the product or asking him to hurry the fark up....am just saying if he post a ballpark date, it would help customers in planning their exhaust's future.....

HOW THE HELL DID I JUST HEAR ABOUT THIS TODAY? :what:
damn i just spent the last 90 mins reading this thread. Can't till this is done! i have HFPC and the rest of my exhaust is stock. I am probably not getting any benefit out of them with my 3rd cat still in place. I think i will be patient and see what Marcus comes out with.
If you wanna test on a 5AT with high flow cats lemme know ill drive down marcus

To ensure optimum flow and reduce backpressure, a new hydroformed 2-into-1 collector pipe carries spent gases down to a 350 cell-per-inch secondary converter under the passenger cabin. A new design for the exhaust system downstream of the secondary catalyst, including the dual silencers, further reduces back pressure and is 11 percent lighter than the comparable Type-S arrangement. Because these smaller silencers are easier to package, the rear of the new TL has a more refined appearance, finished by dual trapezoidal exhaust outlets that are tightly integrated into the rear fascia.

^GREAT SCOTT!
that is disappointing I thought i would get a noticeable difference if i replaced it with a test pipe. Then again the stock J-pipe is also hindering the exhaust pulses as well

Once you have a full exhaust, the 3rd cat will start hurting you. Honestly, no one has dyno'd with/without it back to back, but I'd imagine it'd kill a few ponies up top.

your in luck i have a tls, and semi local. (LBC). i dont have a atlp exhaust tho. if i come down for this testing, will i get a jpipe for 50% off or something cool?
note: tl-s exhaust flows 17% better than base. so please consider this Mark
