All Cali Acura Fest 2015? Let's discuss/plan
Hey everybody,
I was reading through an older acurafest thread the day and was thinking...why not try and get together some ideas and plan one for all of Cali for next year?
Starting to plan and exchange ideas now will give us time to be ready by 2015.
I know it takes a lot of meeting and planning and not that many people are active nowadays but this would be a good opportunity for the north and south parts to come together for those who are are still active and also those who don't attend meets as much. It has been years since anything like that has happened.
This would hopefully give some people incentive to want to come out to a great event and enjoy an awesome meet with great cars.
I came to the forum in 2010 right after the 2009 all cali fest was held, which was an awesome turnout from all the pics I saw and felt this would be a good place to start to at least shoot ideas around, see who's available, eventually set a date and location, place somebody in charge of organizing the event, and many other things that go into planning something like this.
That's all I can think of right now, I hope others chime in! Let's get the ball rolling people!

great idea on the sig change man, just updated mine haha LET'S DO THIS!
Ideas on a few locations so far are Pismo or Fresno, as those are locations the event has been held in the past, always open to suggestions/other ideas though!

Though I'm no longer an Acura owner, I felt like the previous meets got too mainstream. A more intimate feel (no homo) would be nice. No sponsors, so vendors, just everyone chilling and relaxing.
That might pull me into going if I'm not stuck in Sac town by then.

This is the time to at least start with spreading the word around to other members and get a buz going so people are aware.
Because now we know: Acurafest is in the works.
It'll also be easier once we get more feedback from more members cause we need to have a solid number hopefully 40+ cars and thats at the least so yea...

Makes sense, but yea definitely putting faces and names to screen names will be a big part of the meet. And shit, I hope everybody will like each other, no need for hate haha but yea it'll definitely be a good time to chat it up with people and enjoy the company of people who love our cars like we do.

Acurazine meet?
after 2012ish... like 0
I have met a few guys that went to the FittedTho meets down here, but the only guy that really stuck around is NOTSOslaamedILX, who is now a homie and teammate lol.
A lot of the guys down here like to complain about distance even though they "want" a meet.
Personally I go to a meet every Monday held by homies for the homies. I do go to other ones if gas that week allows me.

I want a CLOSER meet. Not looking to drive an hour to a meet with maybe 20 cars.
Don't mean to sound like a snob but shits gotta be worth the drive.

As for afest, it will definitely be a solid, well organized event at the end

Afest would be worth the drive.

lol did u see the 09 meet cuz of my sick ass bump?
(Yes, I sometimes go thru OLLLLDDDD parts of Azine)
Here's a thread link for a meet I tried to make.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=905872&page=2
One of my favorite meets was when the OG's still had Acuras.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ictures&page=5
As you can see Murph145 came all the way from Simi Valley for that meet, a 45 minute drive and in a v6. Distance should not be an issue especially if you have a 4 banger.
As long as you are with people who share the same passion and can exchange knowledge the drive will be worth it.

Anyways. Back on topic lol. Yea I feel that as long we get people active enough to actually WANT to have a meet then the drive will be worth it, no matter where it is.
It starts with the people, we ALL have to be excited about a meet to even want to come out and participate in the first place.
So whatever needs to be done to make this happen will have to start happening. Whether it's SoCal startin with a few local meets to be more familiarized and comfortable with each other make it happen.
Even us here in NorCal can work on organizing and planning better local meets. People just gotta WANT to have meets and be active about it.
Cause in the end these things don't organize themselves haha.

the last acurazine meet was held in SD which was kind of stupid as 75% of the cars that came out were from Los angeles.

Yea. That's why I feel either Fresno or SB are good central locations to both SoCal and NorCal members. Plus, from previous meets the locations looked great for photo ops and just hanging out. But obviously we can have it anywhere, it'll just take us deciding the place that's it.

I like Pasadena best so far. hahaha
SB would be 3 hours of driving. Fresno would be 6.
I just never really got into meets. Before the ILX I had an integra which I was not down to make long drives in so I never hit up meets. The local ones were riddled with thieves tossing cell phones with GPS into sick cars to follow them home. No dice. No dice at all. So I just never got into it.
Id really like to though. So I am willing to make a drive... but 6 hours?! FUUUUUU

It's going to be hard to have such a big meet like in 2009 and 2010. I don't think any of the people who organized that meet are still on azine anymore right???
#35
Someone bust out a map and start pinning where were all located so we can figure out where the midpoint is. Who's the most south and who's the furthest north??

Most south??? San Diego.
Most north??? IDK, I can only assume Sactown.
Bakersfield would be the midpoint, but that's not a great way to choose the spot as said before, a majority of the members are within the LA area.
Can we stop complaining about where the meet should be and just go Pismo Beach OR Fresno.... I wouldn't mind a beach meet

there are other area out there other than 626.
and we can't cater to everyone's location desires...
thats why All-Cali never happens.. everyone bitch and moans about the distance...
we had people from Moreno Valley/Corona/Victorville come out to our SoCal meets.... now its just oh no, lets stay close to 626.
just my opinion.. lol
carry on

The way I see it:
Once the place is set, it simply will not matter if people are going to whine about the location because the meet will happen with them or not, it'll just be up to the individual whether or not they want to make the drive out. I personally don't see the big deal cause if it was in San Diego I would come out. If it was Bakersfield I would come out, Pismo I would come out. Fresno I would come out. Solo or not I don't give a fuck. That's just me.
Now, as said before we cannot cater to every single individuals wants/needs because once we set the location that is fair to the MAJORITY of people who WILL be down, then that's it. It will be firm and final.
Also, even before any of that, the MONTH of the event will be one of the first things we need to establish (a great idea by member R2D).
Then, once the location is set, that will allow us to narrow and pin point the numbers/attendees even more accurately because there will be many who drop out simply cause of the location and that's okay with me. Not everybody can make it out for whatever reasons and that's honestly just the way it is.
The point is to set a location, gather the numbers, establish the time/date and create the event and keep moving forward.
