Broken Motor Mounts
Had the CL at the dealership recently for an SRS light issue and they gave me a list of a couple items I need fixed, among them was my front and right (I assume passenger side) motor mounts. I'm 18 and heading to college so I've got more time than money - I've decided to attempt the repair myself but before I start I was hoping to get a little help from the Acurazine community..
Anyone have a service manual they could send me a few pages from concerning the procedure?
Also, autozone motor mounts have lifetime warranty but I'm concerned about the quality. Acuraautomotiveparts.org has the oem mounts for less than autozone but no warranty that I can see. While searching the forums I saw innovative mounts mentioned but it looks like those are just for the tl. Are there any quality aftermarket mounts for the CL?
Thanks guys.

Pretty common. Get the stock mounts. The side is pretty easy. The front is a bitch. You will have to raise the front of the engine to install it. Make sure you are able to do this. You need a jack & a block of wood. You may or may not be able to crank the front mount bolts free with hand tools. I wasn't able to. Air was needed, but others reported they were.
And btw, if those 2 mounts are trashed, the rear mount is likely as well. It's hard to see if it's busted unless you take it out.

Doing the side mount is extremely easy. Its not a load bearing mount, so you can just unbolt and bolt the new one in. That one shouldnt take you more then 25 minutes.
The front you wiill need to jack up the motor. You best bet is to unbolt the side mounts to allow for movement. Dont forget to reconnect the vacuum line to the botom of the front mount.

yea I had the slightest hairline cracks in my side mount and that caused a lil bit of a rough idle intermittently. replaced with new one and it's pretty much gone. I was amazed just a few lil cracks made the mount not work that well. took about 15 mins to install everything. If i remember correctly u gotta remove the black box thingy with the wire going into it (lol, dunno what it is or is called) move that over to the side. and then to get the mount out i think u gotta turn it sideways and or upsidedown to get her out, then put new one in and ur good.
