Shocks blown....Need opinions
Well it happened , my stocks shocks have blown , knew it was gonna happen, dropping it on springs only. Regardless, I really need some opinions on what people are running and where they have been purchasing the item.
I dropped in on comptech springs(1st batch) and these have been known to crack, so I want to do a whole new suspension setup.
I'm torn between coilovers or springs/shocks. I really don't know what the best money would be. I just want something that will not blow prematurely. Be able to take an occasional hard turn on the corner.
I drive alot on the car, almost 100 miles a day. I need something that would be tolerable. In addition , I also sometimes have up to 4 ppl in the car, so I know I can't be slammed. Also the roads here are TERRIBLE.
So yes I have searched, I know the brands, I just want people's opinion and the best place to buy it.
Thanks in advance!

I've been running Tein SS's for quite a while, and drove over 100 miles a day for work as well. I'll preface by saying that my car is by no means slammed, I just wanted the adjustability (height/dampening) of coilovers and cost was not an issue at the time. The daily drive was no worse than stock, and probably better than what you were used to with your old setup.
I think the limiting factor would be the condition of your roads.. I frequently traveled poorly maintained country roads, but other than the occasional pothole, they were not horrible. Once again, I highly doubt the ride would be worse than your old setup or stock, but it could cause premature wear on the dampers. Honestly I am more worried about my wheels than my suspension, and have two bent ones in my garage to validate my paranoia.
As far as having 4 people in the car, I avoid it if at all possible (assuming they're not two 100lb girls in the back). Even on the stiffest setting I will certainly hit my bumpstops or rub my fenders on moderate cornering.
I cannot comment on where to purchase them, as I got mine used with low miles. Overall, for daily driving I have no complaints about my Tein SS's after about 75k miles with them.

Since the roads are terrible and you like to have people in the car, Id toss CT springs on Konis and call it a day.
Im not a fan of the KSports. I used to endorse them, but no longer. The quality seems sub-par. Once I find something that suits my tastes, Ill be ditching them.

Not really a fan of ksports, didn't like the ride comfort when I checked out a friends ride.
I have been following your thread, and sorry to hear things happen to you, hopefully you find a better solution. Maybe you can help me install my new suspension, lol
How much do they run, where can I buy them?
Where did you buy them , how much did they run you?
I have good things about TEIN and bad things too. Honestly , I feel they are good in comfort, I just don't know if I want to drop that much money. I have been on the blackmarket trying to find a decent setup for a used price with no luck.

Has anybody heard any good things about B & G suspension, If I recall correctly there was a member running those, but I'm not sure if he was running the shock/springs setup, not sure though??

I hate KYB. They were a waste of money on my Prelude. I blew 2 struts within a month of installing them.

I seem to be pushing towards coilovers and been looking around. However I just cannot see myself spending up to a grand for a suspension setup. I'm looking between Function and Form and NEX however I cannot seem to find them anywhere, on ebay is function and form the same model as the 98-02 honda accords?

Theyre both the same. Theyre just different colors. The same goes for Megan and KSport.

Jack the car up and look at the Comptech springs. Are they covered in rust?
Some people have had problems with them (me included) but a lot have not. Seems a waste to just chuck them if they're still in good condition.
And the issue was simply that they had a bad batch of powdercoat that flaked off and caused the springs to rust.
