Product Review: 303 Aerospace Protectant

Take everything you think you might know about this awesome product and forget it because it's even better than you've heard. I was anxious to try Aerospace Protectant and finally got around to putting it on my list. I had actually waited so long and heard such great things I was beginning to worry that I would set my sights too high and wind up disappointed. I was wrong. Awesome doesn't begin to describe this stuff...it simply boggles the mind with what it can do and the ease with which it does it. Door panels, dashboards, engines, black exterior plastic and trim...you name it, chances are this will do it.

Unlike many similar products, this leaves a nice, matte finish and a smooth texture without the greasy feeling and mirror-reflection properties of others. I gave it the first big test today and used it on the engine of my Santa Fe which was in need of a beauty treatment anyway. Just spray on and wipe off with a microfiber towel and this is the result. This stuff may be a bit on the expensive side ($23 for a 32 oz. bottle) but it's more than worth it!!

So just a simple spray and wipe, nice! Think the high heat temperatures of the engine bay will affect the dressing at all, no browning or discoloring???

Sorry, man....I was a detailing virgin up until just about two years ago when I really started getting into it. Hell, three years ago I was washing my car with terry towels and drying them with bath towels.

Interesting product to clean an engine bay with as it has no inherent cleaning ability.

It is however the best UV protection product bar none

I was intrigued as I love this stuff and do apply it to my dash. My rationale was it is a UV protectant, so I would want to use it on the dash...correct???

I love 303. I actually use it on a ton of other stuff besides my car. I use it on lawn furniture, my Klipsch RF 83 Surround Sound System in the house and anything else that i want the finish to stay in good condition, not fade, crack, etc...

A 32oz bottle goes a longggggggg way too. You dont have to saturate stuff like you have to with other protectants.

Detailed Image has it on sale right now too!

http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...-P12/32-oz-S2/

If you know you are going to use it a lot or detail a lot of cars, grab the 128oz jug, it bring the price per ounce down significantly!

Dash
Exterior Trim
Engine Bay
Tires
Leather Seats
All Season Floor Mats

It's like a one stop shop

Mostly because I found that Meguiars #40 covered the air bag imprint better on mine. And in reality the magority of the UV protection in dressings is the reflection .. not something "special" incorporated into it like we are lead to believe.

Do you know of a product that is actually a UV protectant rather than a marketing gimmick? Obviously I'd like to actually protect my interior!

There might be but I'm not aware of anything affordable .. Myself I think we over react to the whole thing .. JMHO. Sucumb to marketing.

I just detailed an original 66 Chev P/U that is single stage paint .. original interior and has been no more than carport stored if that and the interior is great shape and fo the first 30 years never saw any protectant.

From what I understand ozone does more damage to our interiors than UV.

D, its actually the depletion of ozone which allows a more concentrated U.V. spectrum.......

So far I've also tried it on my black plastic bits including the splash guards and the rear bumper scuff plate. Also I tried it on the rubber weather stripping which now looks and feels new!

I too love 303. I've only ventured around my interior with it though.

It's especially noticeable on light colors but annoying regardless of your car's color.

Oh! I know exactly what you're talking about now. I too dislike that but I really like tire shine, so I don't mind washing off some black specs every now and then I suppose. I always just thought it was brake dust sticking to tire shine overspray on the paint.

What are you using to clean and then dress your tires? You can still get a very good shine without the sling.

I've heard good things about the Optimum tire dressing in terms of not slinging.

I like Tuf Shine kit for my tires. Never had a problem with sling.

I still have yet to try my bottle, and I've had it for a year at least. I remember someone saying you needed to wet it down to use it on the interior, is that right?

wet it down was the wrong term, I remember patrick saying he suggested diluting 303 for the interior, anyone's thoughts on that?
