replace everything with NEW/USED OEM parts.

did you find the correct harness yet?
search for the correct harness at (link) www.acuraoemparts.com (/link)

then you will need to solder the connection and then wrap it.

Trace the wiring back to where it was butchered. Replace everything from there forward with OE parts. I'm sure the headlight assembly isn't OE either and you'll have wonky grounds.

Any evidence of an intentionally botched repair to save money is a promise of future problems. The electrical systems in modern cars is very fragile anyway and even simple mods can cause problems.

Here, you know that the electrical system has been butchered. There is a reason the car had a salvage title - because it couldn't be repaired economically if done correctly.

My advice is to fix it properly and sell it. Don't go looking for other problems because you will find them and your wallet won't like what you find. If you find them then you'll have to fix them properly.

Sorry, but you have to face reality. This car will leave you (or your wife and child) stranded on the LIE one day.

Fixing that car will cost lots of money, take lots of time and require a good mechanic who really understands the car. This isn't meant derogatory (because the same applies to me) but that isn't you or me. You need to understand your limitations - I (and many others here) have learned that the hard way.

This past weekend I got a chance to replace the ignitor and ballast with the OEM parts. Also while I was at it I converted my fogs to 5000k HIDs.
Thanks for your guys help and input...

Notice the excessive glare of the foglights? You'll also want to get the headlights aligned properly.

Doing it against your neighbors brick wall won't work properly I take it that you have the proper equipment to align the headlights?

more ceb overkill

half tank of gas.
find a flat place with a wall.
like a home depot. stop in a get a tape measure and some tape.
also make something to block one headlight a piece of cardboard will work.
for the height there is a mark in your headlight lens looks ike a O that marks the height.
measure that from ground.
then place that location 25 feet back from wall.
put bottom of tape even with that mark on headlight.

using the up down move the high mark or CUT OFF of your headlight even with the tape.

done.

actual US code is 2 inches below at 25 feet but I like the EU standard better.

just like you did with the igniter and ballast, ignore ceb and find a comparable solution.
sure if money is no object then we pull the tsx in to stealer and say here is a blank check and dont forget to bend over too/

You don't care because you won't be facing him in oncoming traffic. Next, you'll tell me that the foglights have no glare.

As usual, you have oversimplified the process. Here is the correct procedure for visual aiming. The difficulty will be finding a perfectly flat area where you can pull back the 25ft and still have room for the car - so about 50ft or so.

MY LED FOGS have a cutoff.

your OEM Halogen ones DONT.

wow finding 50 feet with a wall is a challenge.......ever heard of a parking garage.
lots EMPTY on the weekends.

also his tsx is about 16 feet so he only needs 41.

Of course he doesn't have one - a decent shop would have one and the point was that the normal shadetree methods of adjusting headlights works poorly with HIDs.

He'll be the guy that oncoming traffic hates because the one headlight it pointed up in their direction.

hate to break it to ya but probably 75% of shops you would bring it to would tell the 17 y/o helper kid to do that and would probably get it wrong...an ASE/master mechanic wouldn't be bothered with such little crap.

That's why I said decent shop.

I can pick out a car with accident repair from 50 feet at night - not by the bodywork but by the headlight alignment.

I've seen plenty of brand new cars (paper plates) with headlights not aimed correctly right from the dealer/factory.
