I have a 2001 Acura CL S-type and the floor in the trunk that opens to get access to the spare tire has completely distengrated. I dont know if it is because it is old or it got wet, never the less it needs to be replaced. I could not find anything online so I called the dealership and they said for $126 I could get a new one.

That isnt a bad price but for the trunk (which I dont really care about) I am wondering if there are other options? Does anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement other than the dealership? Any suggestions for an alternate solution? I guess I could just take the floor out and get a thin piece of wood and just lay it down.


Also I want to add that love this board so much. Everyone on here is so well informed and has helped me with my car so much over the last 10 years, so much so that it will impact my decision on my next car. Having this resource really helps so much. I am the type will try and fix something on my own before bringing it anywhere and I have everyone on here to thank for the information.

I have mine out of my 03 CL in like new condition. Where are you located? Not sure it would be worth shipping at rates I get.

id just buy a new OEM one. I made mine out of mdf and carpeted it but i re-carpeted everything including trunk lid so it looks factory.
