Thumbs down K&N oil filter leaking at "nut"

Noticed yesterday when leaving work (I park in the back corner, so no one hits or bangs my doors) that there was a small couple of drops of what appeared to be oil on the ground by my front passenger tire well.
When I got home I inspected the tire well, and found that the oil filter was leaking between the canister and the added top 1" bolt cap. I have had this filter on for approximately 6 months and although I check frequently (every other week) my fluid levels etc. I don't know what has caused this filter to start leaking.

I have chalked the situation up to a faulty filter and installed another, as well as doing the complete oil change last night. But for those thinking of using the K&N filter, I would think twice.

I used a bunch of these on a few different cars and never had a problem. Doing my oil change tomorrow and using a K&N filter.
Hope I don't get a bad one like you.

K&N anything sucks.

Royal Purple oil sucks. however, their oil filters are pretty stout.
actually, one of the best.
