DRL warning light

Hello... does anyone experience the DRL light coming on intermittently? My '02 TL is regularly having the light come on. I can easily force it off by turning on the full head light system. I've heard there is a 'fix' available. Taking to the dealer would be well over $200 I've heard. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check and see if both high-beam bulbs are still working.

Thanks for the replies and...Yes.. the car was bought in Canada (the problem has just started to happen) and both high beams have been recently replaced.

Just to clarify.. I dont want to disable it. There are lots of posts on how to do that. Here in Canada DRL are mandatory. My problem is the warning light comes on frequently. It always means my DRL's are not on. I can get around it by either turning on the full headlights or switching frequently between lights on/off and flash high beams. Eventually the DRL's will come on and the warning light goes out.

How is your e-brake? If it is semi-engaged, then DRL will be turned off. Just a thought.

It can't be semi-engaged, because otherwise the brake warning light will come on.

For the benefit of anyone else having the same problem... I was surprised at how cheap the DRL module looked under the dash. It really looked like a low-cost add-on; perhaps to be Canadian law compliant. The 14 pin connector seemed somewhat disjointed from the cheap box that held the module. After repositioning everything the warning light is gone. I will be surprised if it permanently fixed the problem but it's clear that loose connections in this flimsy package could cause problems. If it comes back, I'll do the full voltage tests suggested in the troubleshooting guide. Thanks to all for the responses.
