Strange failures on my '07 TL-S

Sorry, I don't post here often but I do lurk. I've got a 2007 TL-S with ~ 102,000 miles

I am planning on taking my TL to 200k+ miles, but have had a few unusual and concerning failures lately:

97K miles - new radiator. The transmission fluid hoses run through the radiator to cool the fluid & one of the "bungs" that attaches the hose to the radiator blew off on the highway. My mechanic was unsure what caused this, and it was a mess.

102K miles - new master cylinder. Brake pedal began to sink the floor. Towed it to same mechanic and MC was dead. Mechanic was equally puzzled why it died an early death.

Anyone here have similar experience with premature failure of these components? Seems like both of these systems failed long before they should

Thanks.

That's unfortunate bud. I just purchased my tl-s about 6 months ago and plan on going to 200k + as well. I have 103k now and have put about 6k on the vehicle. Those issues are strange for an Acura with 100k on it. If the car had 200k or more than I could see it, but every vehicle is different and will have different issues unless it's a major design flaw ( our automatic transmissions).

before the TL, Honda's Brake master cylinders were known to go out.

my 2006 TL's brake master cylinder went out because of operator error.
I poured a petroleum based lubricant into the reservoir.
petroleum will eat the rubber seals.

if you replaced the MC; it shouldnt fail for the life of the vehicle.

Technically, your radiator didnt fail.
Technically, a rubber hose failed which led to your radiators demise.

rubber deteriorates.

basically; like the poster above said; one off problems that can occur to any one.

My acura dealer told me my MC was bad when in fact there was just air in the brake line.

The only radiator issue I've had was my resivore cap and radiator cap failed, separate occasions.

This reminds me, I'm ordering hoses to replace next coolant flush

Figured I'll update this thread in case anyone else runs into the issue...

MC was bad; mechanic told me that something brought the brake pedal all the way to the floor, which blew out the umbrella seals inside the master. He is puzzled because he could not tell what caused it, so he's not sure if it will happen again. But he had a lot of issues trying to bleed the ABS system: his bleeder hooks up the engine computer and triggers the ABS bleed. His tool indicated the system was bleeding, but nothing was happening. He tried it several times over an hour until it finally kicked in.

He didn't really know why either, but I'm wondering if something is wrong in the ABS unit.

Ugh.

there is a TSB for the older TL's where the ABS modulator let air in.
it only applied to the older 04-06's but it doesnt hurt to check out your ABS modulator unit.
