Intake Manifold Spacer Installed

Installed the spacer from the Pilot/mdx/etc. I work at a chevy dealer, and the same spacer is on the saturn vue. My cost it was $24. Not bad. Haven't really drove it around yet I literally just finished.

I have to clean under the hood a bit when I have some time. Also, my next day off would like to do some porting and polishing on the top end. Didn't have time today.

Do you happen to have a part # for the Vue spacer?

Any hood clearance issue? Was the hood able to close no issue?

The hood does close and it drives fine with no issues. The top of the intake manifold is hitting the material on the inside of the hood though and it doesn't close AS easily. I will be removing the hood liner and it should be fine. But as I said, as is, the hood does close, and the car drives fine.

nice... i was just looking into spacers yesterday too.. i was moreso looking at the outlaw ones due to the fact that they are thermal spacers and keep the engine cooler also... does these show gains and do you plan to ever dyno to see if there is any?

Looking at 5 and up to 10 wtq on the powerband. At the cost of 1-2 HP. I'll share the dyno pix once I get the PC up and running again.

as promised. This is from an accord v6 6spd. TL will probably see similar if not more power.

ALL credit goes to Cubanob247

I also want to correct myself. You lose top end tq and a few top end HP. You gain midrange HP and gain low-mid range tq

I have installed outlaw spacers on the IM and the tb. And there is 0 gains.

The Im spacer ( on outlaw engineering ) is no where near as thick as the mdx or " vue " though......

If I am correct the boys at p2r told me the exact same things as stated above... You gain some low and mid end but you really lose top end so not worth it......

Also on the TL's as any car it really depends on your current mod list and most importantly your final mods list as different mods react DIFFERENT depending on supporting mods....

What about the area under curve?... I know the spacers give you 0-2whp gain peak but i woul like to have seen the difference in the dyno graphs.. i cant believe u get absolutely nothing area under curve hp or tq

Incorrect.... Both needs tq seeing as though you need the quickest acceleration possible... U only need hp when u want to max out your speedometer..

Looking at this graph the car seems pretty much dead on with tuning, idk if this gain is something anybody would see by just slapping the spacer on their cars

Integra and civic had no to and were killing 90's "sports car."

Also there was zero tuning done with the Mdx spacer I posted up. Remember the accord doesn't have hondata. Aem fic was not use, and only Zachary and I have the autotune ecu, which cam out a few months ago.

just did.. without any reading i find that quite interesting and would need to devote more time to really read up on it... approx how much did that set up run??... my major concern is does it detune also to keep the car at 13.1 because IMO that could possibly rob power from the car correct??? again i havent read much.. on my cell and just a lil lazy right this second lol..

You can adjust it. If you set te Afr too lean your can will ping and knock and timing will bomb. We been street tuning it. I input my own mapping

I know this is a little off point here but the Vue's engine, although Hondas design, was far from a "j35" by my standards. It still used ALOT of gm's parts (namely the Delphi electronics) that killed its reputation. With its cast pistons, rods and crank, it's deemed virtually useless by most of us that use the j35's for swaps and whatever. It's a total POS in my opinion and I can't believe Honda did such a stupid thing.

Wondering if with cams and ported and polished manifolds if this would help out quite a bit more, I would enjoy some of my low end torque back! (texting friends that are smarter than me now) haha

Look at the graph. It doesn't gain anything measurable til 4k rpm.

Andy advised me against using this spacer, makes sense to me, would throw off my port and polish lines even if we tried to port match it, its just an area to allow leaks/ruin the flow from what I have already.....eh oh well. I was told if you have no mods this could be beneficial? I don't know. Anyone explain this better for others?

The flow can already be messed up. When you first put on the manifold and has room to wiggle around and thus causing problems. It's a pain to get right, and the spacer is just another problem.

Pretty much the same thing as a carb spacer. I know I had to rejet the Holley on my Chevelle with an open carb spacer, not at all with the 4 hole. More or less to fine tune the engine to the rpm range you operated the most in. Cheap mod if you've done everything else.

I have the Moore's IM spacer that is much thinner and well built. Several of us ran into issues with those IM spacers made from phenol as they melt over time. I still have to get in there and replace it with an OEM gasket. Is the Outlaw spacer made of a different material?

Hey well it looks cool. haha jk.

I used rtv to seal from the upper intake manifold to the intake manifold spacer. Currently it holds it to the intake manifold like glue which I do not plan on taking off anyways. So this said I am going to be able to port the upper intake to the spacer with ease to allow for better flow.

I don't know. In the end this definitely isn't some go-fast mod but i'm into trying all my options and messing around with my car. This didn't break my bank either.

So after searching around and reading a few threads I found there is alot of contradicting information about spacers! First it appears there is a lot of confusion about spacers vs thermal gaskets. I keep reading P2R spacers melting comments but I can only assume they are referring to the thermal gasket. Anyways, on to my question...
I will soon be replacing my valve cover gaskets and thought it would be a good opportunity to add intake manifold and throttle body spacers and thermal gaskets. I am already fully bolted on with intake, hfpc, jpipe, and exhaust and wanted to know if anyone has had their car dynoed before and after with the same mods.
My goal is to make the car a bit more fun to drive as a daily without having to invest in tuning. I may do occasional auto-x if my integra track car is down but its main purpose is DD. I also have looked around about the type-s cams and I am considering that swap as well if it would gain a noticeable amount of power. Thanks in advance for any feedback
