Can you install Acura Remote Start without roof antenna?
Hi, I know nothing about cars but I have couple questions about remote engine start installation.
I just bought an standard Acura MDX and asked the dealer to install a remote engine starter. They went ahead and installed the remote engine starter without any delay (which is good). When I got home and checked the Acura website, it clearly indicated that the remote engine starter requires roof antenna, which is not standard on the standard MDX. I called the dealership to inform them that the remote engine starter may require a roof antenna that they did not mention to me about, and they said they will check with service department and get back to me.
Before they get back to me, I have couple questions,
Will it be OK for remote engine starter to work expectedly without the roof antenna? If not, will the range be impacted?
Will it be a lot of work, or too late to add the roof antenna now?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.
While you're waiting for the dealer to get back to you, walk as far away as you want it to work, then walk a little farther and test it again.
If you're satisfied, it might save you a bunch of money to get the roof antenna installed.
BTW, what year MDX is this?
