I have a 1998 Acura TL 3.2 and it has been having problems recently with the alternator belt. the harmonic balancer needs to be replaced and the crankshaft pulley is completely disconnected and I have to keep the alternator belt at just the right tension to keep it from flying off. I went to crank it this morning and after no problems for a month it flew off the pulley. Since this happened before I had a replacement. I went and put the replacement on but when I went to put everything back together and cranked the car it would not turn over. it is getting power but it would not crank.I put a battery charger on my battery to see if it was the battery but still nothing. all it would do was click under the steering wheel where the fuse box is located and by the front passenger side headlight (even after not turning the

key but just leaving it in the ignition it continued clicking on its own until key was removed) but would not turn over. also the lights in the interior were flickering. The battery is fully charged and i put in a new alternator a few months ago and starter about a year ago. does anyone have any idea what this might be? Can having the belt tensioner too tight cause it not to crank? loose battery cable perhaps? I've had that problem before with this acura. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you everyone.

At first, I was thinking the starter might have gone bad, but it also seems like a loose connection, or a bad ground. I wonder why it seemed to happen all of a sudden.
