I know this is reviving a very old thread but I have bee looking everywhere since I purchased my 2005 TSX to find out whether I could get the newer GUI with the most recent Orange DVD. I went ahead and purchased it (final update - 2014) and after installing (which was surprisingly fast considering some people mentioned ~30 minutes for an update from original 2005 maps/software to current 2014), the GUI has not changed at all. It is still old and funky, not the newer silver interface that someone posted earlier in the thread from their 06+ white disc.
Sorry if everyone already figured this out over the past 3 years, but thought I'd chime in since it seems the Orange disc (04-05) cannot update to the newer interface, at least I'm only out $99 since the 2014 disc has been discounted over the years.
FYI - My "Software version" shows v1.5000 and "Database version" is 20130318, I'm not sure what the Software version was before but the DB version was 20040714.

No, that silver GUI was for 2006 and newer NAV systems which had different NAV systems than the 2004 and 2005 TSX's. I have the last NAV "Orange" DVD update for my 2004 TSX which was 2014 (V.3.D0). I had purchased many of the NAV DVD's since I bought my 2004 TSX back in April 2003 and the GUI changed once in 2003 or 2004 to what we have now. A number of the later Orange NAV Update DVD's that I had purchased didn't even update the firmware when I installed them.

Since I bought my 2004 TSX in April 2003 I have purchased many of the updates over the years including the final 2014 one. The only time the interface changed to what we have now was I believe after the first DVD update in late 2003 or 2004. For a number of years there were firmware updates to fix bugs and such but the later ones didn't have firmware updates and just had new map and POI data. When I bought a new NAV DVD I always sold my previous one on eBay and got over 80% of the cost back or more, so it was alwas worth it to me to buy the newest version. This link shows some sold Orange NAV DVD's and some have sold for $98 to $115 which is crazy. So you might want to conside selling any old ones you have.

Thanks for the info and help GeorgeTSX, I actually don't have any other DVD's as I purchased the car with the original one and just purchased the 2014. I wish we could upgrade to the newer NAV but alas, it is not to be.
