What amount of discount, if any?
I have a 2010 RL with 72,000 miles. Getting very itchy either for a TLX six cylinder with the tech package or a used RLX for about the same price. What if any discounts have purchasers been getting? I have read post of drivers getting upper 30's on the highway with mpg's. I had temporary insanity considering a Lexus ES350. For many reasons but mostly reliability, I would only own a Lexus or Acura. My wife has had a SC430 and is currently driving a RX350. The ES350 is nice but there are so many little things that Acura's have that the Lexus does not. This is my second RL, three TL's, Legend 2dr and two Integras. I would get the white exterior with the graystone interior. With this color combo are the carpets black or do they match the graystone? Thanks for any help!

Not the best time right now for discounts. The TLX is a new model so significant savings won't be had probably until several months later where we truly see how the car is performing on the market. That'll give customers the leverage. You missed out on some early adopter incentives; the $1000 gift card and $500 off accessories. In addition to that, I was only able to squeeze out about another $950 in discounts. Not much flex.

When the 2014 IS F-Sport was released. I got it at 500 below invoice. I read many who got 500-1500 below invoice.
Best time to purchase is near the end of the month where they are trying to meet their sales goal.

Unlike Toyota/Lexus, it is not easy to get a Honda/Acura under invoice, especially a new model.

When I bought my '14 RLX in Aug 2013 (a few months after release) I was able to negotiate $500 below invoice, but at the time it was a slow seller. The TLX will be a hot seller and prices will soften up some in the future. For the early adopters don't expect much off of MSRP, but shop around and use the other dealers to your advantage.

I went to two Acura dealers who were very insistent on MSRP at first but I managed to buy it at Invoice price. One dealer went $300 below invoice but I went with the first because of color. It was at the end of the month.

Also, I have a suspicion that we do not get as much off in Canada as you do in the States.... sigh!

Hi, It was for a unit in stock. Had I ordered it, I would have not gotten such a deal. Curious why you think the discount would be lower in Canada compared to the US?

I was under the impression that with the lower volume sales in Canada, it would be harder to get a larger discount. Furthermore, in a boom town like Calgary, its even harder to get a big discount... perhaps my assumptions are wrong??? It would be great for other Canadian posters to chime in here.

^ I think the above question is actually directed at me as that was Ostrich's response to my post...
I got a 2.4L base model TLX which had a total MSRP of $31,890. I paid the invoice of $30,213 before tax and fees. Also, I should add that I found one dealer willing to sell for $300 below invoice but they only had the Silver which I didn't like.

Summer is Coming
The dealer on the north west side of Houston called me last week offering $1,100 off MSRP in the 2.4, but I was looking at the V6 Advanced. I told her that and I needed to be closer to invoice and she said she'd call me back. Didn't hear back. This was on an in-stock car that has been on their lot over a month and is still in stock tonight. I didn't really expect to buy a car now so I didn't follow up, but good to see prices are softening.
Strange that a SSM/Greystone V4 Advance has been sitting over a month. I thought that would be a quick seller.

Which dealer are you dealing with? I was looking at one dealer in Houston, Two and Dallas and one here where I live in Fayetteville, AR. I was looking at a Base model and have the one in Dallas down to 30500, I told this one to the one in Houston John Eagle and she said she could beat any price. They have lower then MRSP just cannot advertise. I was in a wreck so waiting to clear with insurance first before I buy my car.

This one. They are supposed to be the largest Acura Dealership in TX. I'd buy from them. But be aware they like to add over priced pre-installed options and then ask you to pay for them. A bit like the guy on the street corner with a bucket and squeegee. About as classy too. Just say no.

She also said she could beat any dealer and had a lower price as soon as I was ready. She said Acura does not let them list lower then MSRP.

Sorry not only did I delete it but have since emptied by trash bin. Performance Acura is not known as a high volume nor high discount Acura dealer. I think with a strong will and patience $2,000 of a tech is not out of the question. Six months from now $2,500 is posible. It will depend on supply and demand. Let the salesperson know to call you when they need a sale and are willing to let one go for $2,000 off. Reaching sales quotas and end of the month pressure can be wonderful things for us and not them.

^ depends on the model and options you plan on getting... For the base model its $30.2K or something like that. You can lookup the invoice price on truecar.com or edmunds.com and figure out to the dollar what the invoice would be based on what type of options you're getting.
